i think this is how it works at the moment

for each day you call in sick or personal is 1 point. if you get 3 points within a certain time period i think 90 days then you get a reprimand, and if you get 3 repremands within a certain time you can be terminated. they never ask for a sick note, well i never got asked, wasn't even asked if there was anything wrong. Also if you are actually sick and cant go to work for something like 9 days in a row you will be asked to leave. but this will all be explained to you when you get there.

you also get points or a reprimand if you do something bad, and you get 1/2 a point for clocking in late.

you can trade shifts with others and you usually have to get a manager to aprove and and do it for you. And its usually down to what the individual manager is like whether they let you do it. there wasn't any paper work, but you just gotta find a manager who is nice to you!

well the whole point system thing seems pretty fair. thanks for the info :)

  3. how late do you have to be for a shift before you get a 1/2 point.

seems fair for sure except for the part that if u are actually properly sick and u cant go in for ages they just fire u lol.

there is a clock on the CDS software (which you clock in on). If you need to clock in at 2.00 and the clock says 2.01 then technically you get 1/2 a point. Although some times it didn't give me the half point so im not sure if its automatic and i was just lucky or the manager actually does it manually and missed me off or didnt want to give me it??!!

I think it is up to the managers discretion.
I remember one day i was convinced i started at 6.30 and i got there early as usual and was sitting in the break room waiting to clock in. And it was like 6.20 and someone came in and asked why i hadnt started my shift yet. I went to CDS and my actual shift start time was 6.15 so i was 5 mins late clocking in.
I went and told the manager what id done and they must have gone in and ammended it because my shift time was changed to 6.30 and i never got the half point on my record.

1 minute late is LATE¡¡¡¡¡ but they are flexible in certains ways...if the cds computer has a really long line and you are in line waiting to clock in or cds is not working..your coordinator will take off the 1/2 a point from your record. Managers are allowed to change your shift in a certain time period ...so if for any reason the bus arrived late or something like that happens they usually change your shift even thought you wont get paid for that time¡¡¡

No, not really. If you get a doctors note they wouldn't fire you. You'll still get the points but it won't count in the same way.

If you're either an hour or an hour and a half late you'll get a full point.

I'm assuming they will make this all clear to us when we get there right?

We didn't actually learn anything about that from Disney... Other CM's told us... But ask your manager or someone when you arrive if they don't say anything on your training!

I work with an electronic biometric hand scan time punch clock at work right now, and I can clock in up to five minutes before my shift, and ten minutes after without the manager being aware. Before 5 min, or after 10, I need an "override" in which case I can get written up, or a warning, for being the 10 minutes late

    Hey guys,

    The rules are very strict.

They'll give you a lot of information about sick days, how/where to call in to, how to put in a request for a certain day off (or personal) and how the system works to approve it etc - you go outside of these boundaries and they will send you home. You are just another employee over here and if you don't toe the line, they don't need you, and have thousands more willing to take your place in a heartbeat.
They'll give you all the info in orientation on your first couple of days, so although its boring you need to listen and after that its what you learn from other CMs - unless you ask a manager.

You can clock in up to 15 mins before and must have clocked out 15 mins after the end time of your shift to avoid getting half a point
    - 3 points in 30 days is a warning
    - 6 points in 60 days is a severe reprimand and the beggining of dodgy ground
    - 9 points in 90 days - going home terriroty

They also said to us that if you get your Visa revoked, what happens when you get termed, you're gonna have a very hard time getting another one in the next 5 years - even to go on holiday to the states!
Whether this is simply a scare tactic to keep you in line, i don't know, but i don't want to be the one to find out.

Yeah, but you don't get a reprimand unless you get points for the same thing, like calling in sick all the time.

which i think is very fair, i mean im only out for ten weeks if i call in sick three times that is 9 days of the total 70 i am out there
