I started April 2007, I guess we must have just missed eachother! Phone interview well well I think, mine was with Jason, talked lots about my first program, my reasons for reapplying etc did you get asked about trying merch? He asked me, said they want us to try something new if we get in again.
Nope, face to face interviews are on the 1st & 2nd October so haven't had mine yet! Just waiting now on the email, same as everyone else!

Just remembered: Hannah's not back in the office until Monday so what does that mean for those of us who got interviewed by her? Did she already decide before she left (in which case, my email about McDonald's won't have helped at all :() or will we not find out until monday do you think?

I wish I could be a fly on the wall, I'd love to know how this process works!!

Yeah we must have just missed each other. Yeah mine was with Jason too and we talked a lot about my first program and reasons for reapplying too. Yeah I got asked if I would try merch too and I said yeah that would be fine. What did you say? Me too I will be watching my inbox constantly from tomorrow :)

  5. Unless it says she is out of the office because she is so involved with dealing with the application process. - She must pass her phone interview decisions to be included with the rest as they go along surely. Although all of my emails so far have been direct from Hannah's email address at Yummy jobs, so if she is indeed away from the office, not sure what that means :S - I guess we'll know tomorrow - we'll either receive an email with a decision or not receive anything at all and have to hold on that little bit longer, personally I'm hoping it's the former :)

Although thinking about it, surely Hannah would have to compare her phone interview choices with the rest of the YJ's team, because of numbers. So it may be a case that nobody hears - oh i have no idea... too many possibilities - my head hurts!!!

Haha that's exactly how my thoughts have been going all day! I think it's probably the case that she's not dealing with any more enquiries now but still in the office. I mean, this must be one of the busiest times for them so it would be a really weird time to take a holiday!

Wow so some of us could technically get an email as soon as tomorrow!
Will have to keep my phone on me during work tomorrow and keep having a sneaky email check.
I know we're all technically competing for a job, but even if I don't get through to the F2Fs I'd still be interested to see how everyone here does. I just feel everyone on this forum is really deserving of a CRP position as we all seem so enthusiastic and everyone who's done the program already has been so helpful!
Hoping we'll all be in London in 3 weeks!!!

how freaky last night i was talking to kerry on msn and i said that i thought we might hear something on friday :D because on the last programme i remember some people getting results and some of us other poor suckers having to wait until monday or even tuesday after to find out

i think last time they sent out the yes ones first

Heya! :) I had my phone interview on the 23rd with Amy. She was so easy to talk to I almost felt like it wasn't an interview at all, just hoping I gave her the answers she was looking for. Feel like I may have rambled a bit!
So you're reapplying for CRP? It's reassuring seeing people here reapplying for the program as you all must have had a brill time out there to want to go back and do it all again.

  11. Hhmh, i don't think I'd like to find out i was one of the unlucky ones by not receiving an email the same time as all the yes's - but instead had to wait three more days already knowing deep down you haven't been successful. Though i'd wait right up until the 30th September if the answer was going to be a yes hehe.

I guess either way we can't change it now, the answers are sitting in a mailbox just waiting for someone to press send eeeks. One more sleep potentially.

yeah he asked me about trying merch, i said id consider it but i really want to go back and do f&b again, i was a server and never got to try the bar and i also got into service after 6 weeks so didnt get a chance to try assignor or some of the other podium positions, id really like to go back into f&b again and be a trainer, which i think id be good at 2nd time around as id have all my experience from the 1st time and ive gained more bar skills since my last program that i think would be good to use on the bar there aswell so still plenty of new things to try on the f&b end for me, which i explained to jason on the phone and he seemed to agree but just said that in the f2f the disney recruiters will be asking 2nd timers about it and to just make sure you have reasons to back up your intentions :)

yeah, it is an amazing year, dont get me wrong tho there are of course bad days and its not all disney magic and happiness, at the end of the day you are there to work and it is a business, the management have to adhere to all the usual corporate rules and of course the whole idea is for them to generate a profit from the business, which in turn trickles down to us and so yes, sometimes you do feel like your just there to work (l-o-n-g and very very busy days, 12 hours on your feet, demanding guests etc etc!!) but the lifestyle they offer more than makes up for any bad days and its disney so theres plenty of good stuff going on to take your mind away from any bad patches!! i had never been over to orlando prior to my year as a CRP but a lot of others had been a lot and id just say that as long as you go with an open mind its fine - but dont go over expecting it to be like/feel like a holiday. the magic is lost slightly when your backstage and see mickey with his head off swigging a mountain dew........ ::) or you go for lunch and alice and the mad hatter are in the lunch room on their blackberrys and talking about american idol..... BIZZARE!!!!!!!!

How many people get through to interviews? I think I remember reading on a previous post that someone said it was about approx.150 people? Is that each day or over the two days?

Sorry I just keep thinking of random things, I've stopped over analysing all the other stuff though.

As they say [size=12pt]HAKUNA MATATA - its the zen logic I have taken on about it all now :D

It's been between 50 and 80 or so people on each day the last few times, so a total of 100-150. Of course, this is guestimated here. I'm also relying on memory of how many people were at previous interviews by what attendees said on these forums.

yeah it say its around about 100 - 150 over the 2 days. last time at mine in glasgow there was about 50ish but that year they were going round unis and colleges doing the f2fs......

and if they are only looking for people for positions between feb - june thats only 4 months worth of arrival groups.....

say 10 - 15 in each arrival group...... max 2 a month...... thats only say 60 - 80 people they need, as a really rough estimate........

Hahaa I bet that was a sight! I'd love to be able to see how everything works backstage, it's all so well hidden from the guests. Being able to hear about people's experiences from over there has been so helpful. It seems everyone's loved it, but you've all mentioned how brutal the hours can be. Like you said though, the lifestyle would be well worth it and it's a once in a lifetime (or maybe a twice in a lifetime for some :)) opportunity.
I'm a bit concerned about possibly working in super humid weather though. I imagine strolling round the parks in the heat is much different to actually working your backside off.
Aaand only 1 hour & 10 mins till tomorrow when we could possibly hear about F2Fs!!! ...think 12:01am is too early to check my inbox? ::)

when your on podium the heat can get a bit much, altho you do get used to the weather after a while, your body adjusts and its not too bad, chippy gets hotttt tho, its got big open serving hatches so kinda cancels out the air con inside! the rose and crown is totally fine tho, they have the air con cranked up so its lovely and cool!!!! kinda kills tho if you get rained on and then have to work an inside section, frrrrrreeezing!!!!
i went over in april and used to wear jeans a lot after the first couple of months.... doesnt take long to acclimatise :D

So from the phone interviews to face to faces do you think it's a success rate of about 50/50? If there were 300 phone interviews for 150 f2f? Or not quite as high as that?

around about that yeah....... might be less or more but as a rough guess id say about half of those who had phone interviews will be asked for the f2f and then maybe 3/4 of those people will actually get the job............ hard to tell really but thats my guess!!!!

It can get REALLY cold there too in the winter I remember wearing my coat (the long grey things that make you look like someone whos got lost in narnia) inside the chippy it wa that cold one night

oh and the iced tea cart omg that was hell - standing in a freezing cold dark tea garden without much lighting and no guests with big kettles of different iced teas and a bucket on your own - that was hell so glad they got rid of it

the heat you get used to quickly and seating shifts tend to be the shorter ones usually like 6 hour ones so its not so bad
