Haha I have a Disney tattoo. But it's on my back so I don't have to worry about that one. I have another on my leg though, that I'm not sure if the lovely hiking boots they make us wear at the Canada Pavillion will cover or not. So I did some research on the whole make-up thing. There are some products made especially for covering tattoos, but they're mainly designed for theatre use (translation = expensive). Then I came across this video that seems to be pretty helpful and less expensive. Keep in mind you will be using the stuff several times a week. Check it out: http://video.about.com/tattoo/How-to-Cover-Up-a-Tattoo.htm You can pretty much get everything from the drug store. I haven't tried this method yet, but I will try it before I head out to Fla. Koda, there's nothing to it! lol Wayyy less painful than you expect. At this point I am definitely planning on getting new ink down there (in a non-visible spot of course) so thanks for letting us know about Carey Hart's place, because all of the spots I've seen in Kissimmee are very dodgy lol Getting inked at the Maingate Flea Market on the 192? Noooo thank youuuu.
that video is impressive. I'm getting a tattoo about a month before i go down in march. Ive been waiting forever to get it to make sure i really want it, and i definately do! so i'm taking the plunge right before i go. Its on my ribs though, i'm a bit worried about the pain...
Wow, that video is pretty impressive. It does look like a fair bit of effort though, especially for a boy who has no clue with make-up!
I think after a few tries it would be something that becomes as routine as, well, doing your face makeup lol You just get used to all the steps. I would love to see a guy shopping for that stuff. "hmm, which concealor best matches my skintone...."
I had a nice rosary done on Int. Drive in 07, would recommend it but not sure what it was called lol. I have Carpe Diem as an ambigram on my arm, when you turn it upside down it reads Work Hard
Do you know whereabouts it was? Like near Wet n Wild area, Universal, etc? I just rewatched the video for covering tats and am about to try it out... wish me luck haha I'm gonna take pics to show you guys. 8) EDIT: Here we go... How it looks normally... Products I used (ya ignore the fact that I have major willpower issues when it comes to perfume haha) With the red... looks kinda cool haha Half-way through, with 2 or 3 layers of cool toned cream After all the steps it looked kinda noticable still so I took this CG powder (c'mon, every girl has this stuff) just to bring it closer to my skintone. Aaaand the finished product (showing off my Motley Crue stool haha) A few notes.. - the pictures look better than it did in real life haha although in all honesty it didn't turn out bad at all. - As seen in the last pic, I'd advise tapping the excess translucent powder off your brush cuz it gets everywhere lol - with some practise I could definitely say that this could be a solution for hiding your tattoos. It's easy to do, HOWEVER it does take some time, since you have to wait for each layer to dry before you add more. It would probably be handy to have a hair dryer nearby lol Definitely try it out a few times before 10 mins prior to having to leave for work. - You can probably play around with just one shade of concealer or whatever at first. If you get results with just 2 products then more power to you, that'll be cheaper and take less time lol I'll probably play around every now and then. You wouldn't think it but the red does in fact make a difference I find. Also, the translucent powder may not make a huge difference in terms of the look but it supposedly helps it stay in place. I did have a bit of beige on the inside of my pantleg at the end of tonight but it wasn't anything terrible by any means. - it comes off easy which is a good thing! Any cheapo makeup remover does the trick. So ya I'd say play around with what you have in your makeup collection, more than likely you have most of the stuff...
Also remember, depending on where your tattoo is, that makeup may or may not be exposed to a lot of sweat, and may need to be reapplied. Green make-up also works well, according to the theatre makeup artists I know. It's the same thing that's used to cover up dark circles under the eyes - you'll just need a heavier layer of it. Then, concealer should do the trick. Again, will probably need to be reapplied, but at least it takes fewer steps.
Thats a good point, the sweat and need for reapplication. I think the translucient powder is supposed to help in that but ya, with a long day in the Florida sun, I wouldn't be surprised if it started to melt/smudge/whatever. You mean green-coloured makeup? As in like, eyeshadow, or what? I haven't heard that tip... If you can let us know it would be great! Anything that takes less time and effort is better haha Ya... it didn't look AS good in real life as it does in the pic but it obv did make a major difference. I think that unless people were really looking for it, they wouldn't notice. I'm lucky that my only tat that is potentially visible is on my ankle (I'll have to see whether my lumberjack boots cover it or not)... those of you with ones on your arms and stuff, I would recommend experimenting with this technique!
well but you could hide it very well, it can only be seen by someone that is looking for it. instead that you have no trouble with that
You can buy proper tattoo cover-up products from a few different websites, they would probably work better than random make-up lol
Ya, I had mentioned it earlier but I was trying this out because those products are really expensive. On Disney's payroll when you can spend 15 bucks instead of 40 (and thats a bare minimum- when I looked around I've seen products over 100$) you take it
Not like powder eyeshadow, but a thicker cream one should theoretically work (again, I don't personally have tattoos, but I have friends who are actors who need to cover up their own tattoos for performances, and this is what they say). Also, dark green won't really work. It needs to be a lighter colour, like pea green (for those of you who don't know one green from another, think roughly Maleficent-skin!). The colour composition for skin, when you mix it with paints or other art media, actually has green in it, which is why just using the "flesh" coloured pencil always looks kinda flat, no matter how much you shade with it. So having that green layer helps to bring the tattoo closer to the range of skintone before putting on cover-up.
So kind of like the red in that vid/technique I tried. So maybe a green eyeliner or cream/stick eyeshadow might work. Or even Halloween cream make up if you have a party supply store in town.
Your Tattoo is on the feed, isn´t it? So it´s no problem, it may will be hide from the costume. If you work at Space ship earth for example, you have to wear footlong pants, so you´ll not see it
think I'm gonna have to try a couple different things as I'm off to Orlando in like a month and need to cover up a 3/4 inch tattoo on my arm!
lol i love the group tat idea! but why not grab a great experience while were at it and get them done at miami ink! lol i loooove that show!
I'm not opposed to a disney tattoo at miami ink although i'm sure my mom won't have the best to say about it. She wasn't pleased when I got a tattoo on my back last year...
