Oh my, I met so many people who told me how shy they were when first coming to the Commons. And let me put it this way the life there changes you. When you don't have a worry in the world and you are surrounded by so many opened, fun people, it's easy to make friends. Being shy is definitely nothing to worry about.

Sigh...I just wrote a really long detailed response to this, but then my computer froze and shut down on me,   so here is an abbreviated version of what I wrote.  :-\

I care about my appearance - my hair, my makeup, my clothes, my waistline, my teeth. I like to party. I am not a bimbo. Just because a girl cares about these things, it doesn't make her a bimbo.

If you are an introvert, that's fine. There are all kinds of people and personalities at WDW. Just remember though, the majority of people there DO like to party and be socialable on all levels, so don't be upset or resent those like that. If you are too shy to be social (sorry, shocked that someone applying for WDWIP is so shy that they are worried at this level), no worries, you will find your own group of friends who are like you and  just like to chill out.  8)

Just don't spaz on those who are up for a good time. It's WDW for goodness sakes! And don't get pissed off when you are woken up at 2am on a regular basis. Just a heads up there (I'm serious). And don't label those who aren't like you. That's just rude.

Anyhow, despite how introverted you are, don't let that hold you back. Make the most of this year, meet as many people as you can, and do as many things as you can. :D If you want to pretty much live the same life as you do now, then don't go. Give up your spot and let someone who is excited and willing to live this experience to the fullest go in your place.  :-\

I'm not being mean, just realistic. I'm not just referring to booze and partying. I'm referring to the whole "overly" shy bit.

As for your original question, most WDW jobs have you standing on your feet all day.

They don't even give you a stool at Walmart. So why would WDW do that, with standards twice as high as Walmart?! Your job is to make sure the guests are having a great time. So be prepared to stand on your feet all day (and besides you're not just standing...your constantly on the move). If you're not ringing up a sale, you get out from beind the cash, approach the guest, and talk them up.

If you don't want to stand, or if this is a honest medical problem for you, I would let WDW know asap, before you get there, so they can either find a job for you where you can sit (sorry this totally blows my mind that you want to sit  ), or they can tell you not to bother going.

This is a little more blunt than my original response was, I had taken the time to write it out nice and long (yes longer than this was!) and diplomatically, but I'm not retyping all of that again! ::)

Hey SarahJane, no problem...thanks for your reply!

OK, don't worry I was not saying people who care about there appearance are "bimbos"...I was just saying that from the outside it looked LIKE it was "bimbo land" with superficial persons. But don't think I judge people on their appearance...NO! :) I was concerned because it looked like people were all the same. Anyway, now I know it's not the case!

As far as "standing up" is concerned...it was a simple question because I know a girl who went to work at WDW and came back after 2 weeks because she had had problems with her legs because of standing up all day, she had to have a surgical operation. She actually found out she had medical problems with her legs. Anyway, that was the reason I asked. But I'm not afraid of remaining stand-up ;)

Sorry that you misunderstood what I wanted to say. And trust me I would not give out my spot for anything else...I can't wait to go :D

    Bye :p

I have seen firsthand how disney can help you bust out of your shell...you just have to be open to the idea and want the new experiences. The program WILL change you, but it's up to you to make it for the better.
