Oh we have pints here in northamerica.....however the more popular way to drink some beer is by the pitcher...especially the HUGE pitchers you can get here at some places in ottawa. which reminds me im late to go pick up a friend were going our drinking and dancing tonight at Grace O'mallys....oh being drunk too fun ...ciao everyone have a good night !! Sheena
woo hoo!! just got my tickets in the post for Leeds Utd XI v International XI for Lucas Radebe's testimonial match! when a player has played 10 years for the same club the player gets a game in his honour and all money made from the game the player gives to a charity of there choice. Because of the amount of transfers that take place nowadays it's pretty rare a player gets to 10 years service at one club. (just to fill anyone in that doesn't know what a testimonial is!) Should be awesome ronaldinho, zidane and some other players are supposed to be playing for the international team! should be great! and nelson mandela is supposed to be coming to watch the game because he is a friend of lucas radebe. No-one is probs the slighest bit interested in all this!! lol
Jess: I have to agree with the beer and tight shirt thing... Although there is a point after a certain amount of beer (lets call that amount "excessive", shall we? ) when you reallllly stop caring Sheena: Oh memories! I used to live by the Grace O'Malley's on Ogilvie Road! I think it was one of the first restaurants I ate at in Ottawa. And I'm very jealous that you have TWO Lone Stars you can go to! We used to have one in Charlottetown but the owner shut it down in favour of opening, ugh, East Side Marios. (May still be a bit bitter on that one...) Joelle: Things are expensive in Britain, but they get a bit of a break by having a minimum wage that is equal to about $11CND/hour!! And we have pints in Canada, but on PEI people tend to pronounce it "point". I think I managed to by-pass that PEI hick-ism though ;D Drink one after you play a soccer game before you lunge for your water bottle, then you'll have no problem drinking the whole thing! (It's how I learned, but after softball games instead of soccer.) A few years ago a bar in Ch'town offered PITCHERS of beer for $5.25. FREAKING PITCHERS. I mean, pints often cost that much! ~ Jen
for one person ?? if so, well you win!... lol jen i will prefer to drink some good fresh, pure and tasty floridian orange juice while playing soccer lol! when i use to play in the summer i would go home after a though match and have anenormous glass of orange juice ..!m m mmm and well, we'll be in the orange state so im going to take advantage of it ! hehe byebye joelle
I love caguamas near my university theres a place that the caguama is 15 pesos that are around 1.50 dlls so caguamas are very common here the bad thing is that after you drink one your stomach gets so big!
Can't belive this post started about football/soccer and now its larger/beer- oh well one always leads to the other!!!! ;D I tend to drink pints when i go out, I know people say its not nice for a girl to drink pints, but what can I say it saves you standing at the bar twice ;D ;D (thats my reason anyway lol) Once I went to London for the weekend and had a night out I went to the bar to get a round of drinks (all pints of larger) I got so many funny looks from people because we were the only girly in the place that were not drinking a nice glass of wine!! (I hate wine!!!)( or it might of been the difference in our accents we were rather loud geordies lol) ;D Can't wait for the world cup, think I will have to get my self a new England shirt b4 I go just so everyone knows who I support!! ;D Helen x
I'll be there from september 20th. You'll recognize me cause i'll be playing soccer in the dorms, with a pint in a hand and a caguamas in the other hand and cheering Italy for the world cup! And i don't care if there are no soccer fields...i'll play in the street! ...oh, and I'll probably be wearing the ZOLA t-shirt.
