At first I was thinking around $600-$800 but I want to be completely sure Ive enough for everything I need and not worry about money so now im thinking a minimum of $1000

They say you need around $400 but I think everyones got the same idea to be as comfortable as possible. I have around $600 right now, hopefully somewhere around $850 by the time I leave. So much other stuff to pay for!

Times flyin now kiddies, blink and itl be August (I take no responsibility if you do this and it does not work) then its NEXT MONTH!! Pretty freakin' sweet. Paying insurance and housing fee at end of the month, even if it does rinse my wages. Worth the sacrifice for sure. How's everybody doing?

I took $1000 with me and i'm down to around $700 in under a week. Those who too $300 i'm telling you now are begging for food out here ;D It's nowhere near enough. I'd take about $700 to comfortable

well, at the risk of sounding stupid, how any £ would we need for $1000 roughly (i know u cant be exact cause the rate is everywhere but roughly)

I've got around $650 so far..should be around $950 hopefully when I go, see if I can stretch to a grand, that'd be ideal. I'm not sure if they automatically move you out of Patterson once space in Commons becomes available or whether you have to apply to move. From pics I've seen it looks pretty sweet though, brand new. It's just parties that your a little further away from lol. If quite a few of us get put in Patterson then itl be cool I think but we'll see.

as you're talking about dollars, i thought i'd recommend this site i used: http://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com/

i mean it is a tad risky as if they suddenly jumped up to $2 to £1 then you'd lose out, but it's currently $1.67 (if you order now for september) which isn't a bad rate. hope that helps :)

yeah i mean they recommend $300-400 which covers your basic living. . but they obviously dont take into account partying and things like that!
I think $1000 is a good target. . I pretty much have the money because ive barely spent any of my last uni loan. . its just what gets taken away for visa, assessment fee etc. . so im still working as much as i can hoping to at least leave some reserve in my account in case i want to do something special like a cruise.

Patterson is where we were put. We can request to move to another apartment but we can't go to the commons although those Living in the commons can move to Patterson. Not sure what that is about.

I guess it's down to who's moving in and out. We were a LARGE amount of people (maybe 100) that arrived last week so maybe it was easier to put us in the Patterson. If there's only a couple of you arriving then you may well be put into an empty space in the commons.

I have been to my 'Throw In' as that's a requirement but not to any of the Lads/ Lasses parties as i'm not much of a party goer. I'll start going next week when i haven't got to get up at 6.30am

Yeah I heard you guys had had your throw in already. . i thought that was quite early some people dont have it until a few weeks in!. . . Fair enough about the no partying so much, I know ill defo be up for them but yeah certainly not when ive work at 6.30am!

That reminds me of when I lived in Treehouses. . you could get in but not out, basically because the demand is to live in the Commons, and thats where Disney aims to put all the CRP's. . . so if people in the commons want to leave to patterson then theyre happy to move them as it opens up a space for someone to move the other way!
It is July, id imagine its probably peak of how many crp's and icp'/cp's are actually there. . so hopefully by the time we arrive in september we'll all be able to move straight into commons! But saying that Patterson does look pretty sweet and its the newest of the complexes!

my b/f last summer lived at patterson and it is SO nice all new and shiney, but that said i think id rather live in the commong, ubut if every1 else is in patterson then i wouldnt mind,
    what was the throw in?
its not 2 far 2 walk from patterson to the commong is it, i did it a few times and it ddnt take long at all.
and arron, even if u didnt want to party id make you

nope the walks like 5mins. . not as bad as the walk to vista.
I went looking for pics of patterson yesterday, they dont have the 360 view on the website like they do the other complexes, so i ended up on youtube watching people doing their own home video tour of their apartments, there was an american, a german and a brazilian one haha, . . only understood the one obviously but they do look very new and shiny!
but yeeeah id rather just get put in the commons first.
anna, i will be partying most of the time, just not when i have traditions at 6am! . . or when your around ;D

I'll admit that i am boring when it comes to parties. I went to the throw in (which i'm not allowed to talk about ) but i haven't gone to the UK Lads and Lasses. They say you don't have to drink but i think they kind of expect you too. You do have to be so careful if your under 21 too as it's the easiest thing to get terminated for.

I'm rather go to a bar and just drink pitchers of beer and socalize

I'm pretty much the same, I'd love to be in commons but at the end of the day wherever my mates are is cool with me.
