I no! Just a week left to go for me really..Flights at 1pm next sunday!

haha i did not hang around in the bushes, although ive got an amusing image of me in them trees outside 203 with some night vision goggles on haha.
maaan commons is nicer than vista aint it, on facebooki want pictures of the room and ALSO piccs o0f work costumes,
i wish i was coming out now man!!!! i have like 80days left 80 WHOLE DAYS
i kinda liked our appartments at vista tho........
i find it wierd 2 think that this time last year i was just settling in!!

I find it weird to think that this time last year I only had a month left to go!

I go on sunday, but don't actually get assigned an apartment till Tuesday..I technically could get put in vista still..They sometimes put people in the other complexes until a spot in the commons becomes available! We had like 3 roommates who all just came for one or two weeks at a time, then moved to the commons! Can't see it happening tho..Would prefer to get put in the commons straight away anyway tho..

This week is guna go so slow, by Friday it'll feel like a months gone by!

Aye man, I'll be round with a crate of natural ice! haha..Have you ever had that over there? Its awesome, its about $12 for a crate of them american sized cans and its 5.8%, does the job!

You all don't have long to go, it goes really fast, especially if you have a holiday to break it up, haha.. ;D

I cant wait to get over there and play some beer pong with Milwaukees best!!
I cant believe a year ago I had already been home for 2 weeks!! and even then it would have been 5 weeks since my program finished. . the year has gone so quick!

Im getting really excited now all my things are coming through, new passport, driving license for ID etc haha, not much i can do now until the visa forms come through. . except get insurance sorted which ive still done nothing about!

79 days to go!! bring them on!!

 

Yeah just waiting now. I'll do insurance start of next month. Waiting for my laptop to be delivered

 

I can't wait for a good old game a beer pong, I'm seriously bad at it, but still love it!

Gotta love a bit of flip cup as well, them games never get old...

i have a question boys? will they accept my driver lisence there, ihad a bit of trouble at some places n my last program, ...aaaaand i dnt want to have to take my passport everywhere (if you had seen the photo ud know why its positivly criminal)
so i was wondering, is anyone going to get an america id card OR a florida drivers lisence cause i was thinking of doing hat as tempted 2 get a car
please post your thoughts and ansers on a postcard!!!!(of this wall, u know, whichever)
aaaaaaaaand also, us british have got to show the americans how to drink, no one does it like us (accept maybe the germans, but do we REALLy want to be won over by the beer drinking germans, we didnt let them win in 1945, why let them get one over now.....)

Provisional or Full Driving License? I never had any problem with my full driving license, but some people used to have problems with there provisionals, because they can be easily faked was a reason one place gave, not sure what the real reason is tho!

I would recommend getting a car over there, it saves you loads of time..I got one last time I was there and it paid for itself easily and I got the money back I paid for it at the end of my program when I sold it!

I'd say if you've got a full driving license its not worth getting the american one, coz I never had any problems with mine, but its up 2 you really...

 

well i just got a provisional license (cos yes im a loser who still doesnt drive!), i only got it so i didnt have to take my passport around as ID cos it got trashed last time. . so i hope places accept it! if not i might take my old passport with me too for extra ID.

I got pretty good at beer pong, itll take a bit of match practice, both the game itself and the regular fast drinking! but once i get up to match fitness ill be kicking asses ]

Bring it on! I find it slightly embarrassing, I played a few weeks ago when I was in the commons and we got smashed by two birds! Haha..Oh well, it was a reality check! There was about 3 re-racks, because we were getting it then they were if you no what I mean..Once they both had to get it in to level it then they did! They were pretty good in all fairness, I'll show you which birds they were, you can watch out for there pure raw beer pong talent!

I no man, crazy I'm going in a week..Just think, this time 2 years ago, you were on here banging on about treehouse and I remember thinking I hope I don't get put there! And it ended up being absolutely amazing! Too be honest, wish we could go back to those days, going round aidans before PI, having a few drinks with you then you had to go to bed! haha..Remember when mark was there as well..Weird to think back to them times, can't believe that was 2 years ago! Lets hope the commons lives up to treehouses and vista...

 

also JP and ARRON, as we've been be4, do we have to do full traditions again, and we wont have 2 wait for HOURS for social security will we, cause we already have then?

Pretty sure we don't have to go to the social security thing, which is a massive bonus!

We'll have to do full traditions again tho! It was only 4 hours when I went last time..But apparently someone told me its 8 hours now! What a joke..Guess you get paid for it tho, so can't really moan..Well, until I'm in the classroom anyway..

I've got it a week on saturday I think..While your all playing out in the english weather, think of me getting up at 6am to go to traditions!

Yeah somebody mentioned that traditions is 8hours now. . that will be a horrendous day. . but its just one of them formalities to get out the way, as i remember it wasnt actually that bad. . but I was in my class with all the people we arrived with so it made it better just having a laugh. . hopefully itll be similar this time with the september 22nd people.

Also we definately wont have to go to social security cos weve all got SS numbers now. . just remember to take your card with you to avoid any complications with that!

Man i actually cant believe that was 2years ago. . now is around the time Aidan and that lot got there. . the first 6 weeks I was like the only brit there partying hard with the Mexicans (before they all got termed in August!! Amazing times! ha yeah last time i was underage and couldnt even go to PI. . itll make such a difference to my program this time jsut being able to have a beer without looking over my shoulder! though i remember once i moved to vista they gave me an over 21 housing ID by mistake. . . haha i loved that, security crashed a few parties and im like "yeah im 21, im gonna continue to drink this beer" 8)

 

hi! i have a question for those who are going for a second time. If you already have your social security number, do you still have to buy insurance??

 

Good question actually, never thought of that myself. . . though im assuming so, because it isnt like the UK where the NHS pays for our healthcare. . . in america everyone has to buy their own insurance and having a SS number doesnt mean your covered, it just means you can work

 

Yeah, still need insurance. The only benefit is skipping the trip to the Social Security office.

 

I havent been before so I'll be making the trip for the SS number while you guys go off and have fun

Waiting on my new laptop to get here, should come within the next week woohoo!!

Think I'm gunna buy my insurance and pay the housing fee with my next pay at the end of this month. Then there will just be the trip to London for my Visa to pay for

How much have people got saved up n $ to take with them??
