yeh even if you did operations and didnt get parking but got a ride it could be a really uninteresting one... i cant really think of any other than maybe tea cups or something...

I was like that when I came back in January...right now though I want to get back so desperately I would scrub Main Street with a toothbrush at 3am if that's what they wanted me to do!

yeh id hate to have a ride like primevel whirl or its a small world... i find though that some rides can be ruined by the operations people for instance jungle cruise if you have a monotone and kinda uninteresting guide it doesnt make the ride the same

with stuff like jungle cruise is there room to improvise a little like for example there is a guest laughing realli hard at a bad joke and you say "did you like one mate?" ect (bad example), or do they want u just to be expressive in the way you deliver your 'lines'

Nope, I was put on the Jungle Cruise with no audition whatsover. They used to make you go to an audition (and I still wish they did as some people just can not do it).

You can add the odd thing in if you feel like it, but generally you're supposed to stick to the spiel (and they really crack down on jokes you're not allowed to use...but you can get away with the odd few). It's not just one basic spiel...there are many jokes for each different show scene (there are four pages of jokes for the hippos!). But you're basically acting. If you watch my spiel, I generally don't act like that normally!

this is so hard im really torn between character attendent/peformer and operations

remeber if you are a character attendant or a performer you can pick up extra shits in non trained positions such as EMH wrist band distribution/parade control/fantasmic, but if you are in any other position you cant then pick up a shift as a character/attendant

oh really i didnt know that...so how easy is it to get those EMH shifts? cause that would be cool!

Depends how badly people want them....you'll find PAC shifts get picked up really really fast...especially in Ad/Lib and Main Street (personally I'd advise you to pick up an Ad/Lib PAC shift :p because we rock the PAC)

EMH wristband shifts are quite common, and obviously can be done at any park so there's lots of choice.

Well i was positioned at fantasmic, mgm parade, high school musical and beauty and the beast. the only one you needed training for was beatey and the beast and there were ALWAYS shifts on EHH for the other 3.

One of my room mates even picked up shifts doing quick service food at animal kingdom even tho he wasnt trained. not sure what it involved though!

One of my friends always picked up shifts everywhere. even if she wasnt trained they would put her on a non trained position such as space mountain greeter, or saying goodbye at the exit of the magic kingdom!

Yeah, you can pick up quite a few shifts at QS F&B locations...like the Main Street Bakery...we had loads EH's CM's working there....caused a load more work for us, but I guess it's good experience for them! It just meant I got put in the cone shop more because they could only work in the bakery.

When you go onto the Extra Hours Hotline (EHH) it'll show you which roles require training.

  14. What are the main options for the summer programme. I know about operations, merch, F&B, and custodial. What other ones are there? My F2F is in a week and a half - am so nervous :-\

isnt the vacation planner basically a ticket seller in one of the many booths round the park?

    yes, ticket seller!!

and recreaction could be doing stuff at the wide world of sports, helping at the marinas at the resorts, water slide operation at the pools/water parks, working at the mini gold courses. stuff like that
