i spoke with 02 yesterday and they said that my contract runs out on 13th jan...i go to orlando on the 1st feb, and they said if you then ring up and tell them you no long want to carry on with your contract, aslong as you do it on the last day of your contract. they also said i can then change it into pay as you got for the couple of weeks leading up to my depature and then if i take it with me and use it once or twice whilst abroad, get myself a cheapo phone whilst in usa and they'll keep my number live so when i come back i can use the same number and change it back to contract...dunno if that helps anyone?

Sorry! More random questions from me:

    1. I have the luxury of driving a car and don't think I've ever had to carry my shopping on a bus before. So I've been worrying about Walmart trips, particularity with heavier items. So what I'm asking here really is, if I brought a wheelie Bag type thing from Walmart, is there storage space under the bus for this type of thing?

    2. Do you ever head to the malls?? I understand that the wages are never really adequate enough for a blow out shopping spree or anything but from what I've read on the blogs, hardly anyone heads to a mall to treat themselves to something like a new pair of jeans, shoes etc??

People often take a suitcase with them to Walmart. Depending on the style of bus and the bus driver, these can sometimes go underneath, and sometimes have to come on and sit next to you (most of the buses don't have storage underneath). The Driver should help you lift the case up if it seems like you're struggling.

There is a bus once a week that heads to the Mall at Milenia. The day it goes changes depending on which month it is. It's currently Wednesdays. To get to other malls, you'd have to get a taxi, apart from the Premium Outlet mall, which is opposite Commons. People do go for a spot of shopping occasionally, but not so often. It's not as easy as just "popping into town" in the UK.

You can also get the Lynx bus to the Florida Mall from outside the Premium Outlets. There is also a bus that goes to the Airport if you want to go travelling. (I used to go travelling once or twice a month on a merchie wage - although I never had to pay for a hotel)

WE used to do our shopping mainly at the premium or prime outlets (get on i-ride at publix ad ride it right to the very end of i-drive - vans shop is in prime :) and cms used to be able to ride it for 25c each way)- hit the malls once every couple of months unless one of us had a car then we would go more often just for convenience. Also the lynx bus that runs to florida mall stops fairly early in the day like 6ish ad a cab runs about $30 (could be more now). Black frioday sales we did the premium outlets just cos it was easier but i know people who did the malls - total madness.

I used to take a suitcase to walmart for my shopping especially when i was in building 28 which is a fair walk to g et too - i tended to get the bus to walmart and a cab back to the commons - usually went with a friend cost us around $3 each which we are happy to pay out - the bus back from walm art can sometimes be a realy pain in the butt - you often cant get a seat or even move cos it is full of peoples shopping - other times it can be empty its luck of the draw. Also people do shopping in publix - its slightly more expesive than walmart but much better quality food esp with fresh goods like fruit and vegs and bread and meats and cheeses. People take trolleys form there and walk with the trolly home and theres a dumping ground just up from commons where all the stolen trolleys get left and evetually collected by publix

u get 2 days off a week uless they are understaffed. you can request back to backs thats whre you get your 2 days off at the end of one week and the beginning of another so that gets you 4 days off together

after you have been there 90 days you can request time off - ado's

you also get a days leave if you work a holiday day which have to be taken in a set amount of time

I worked in merch and had 3 days off a week. I had to work long hours on the days I did work but the extra time off made up for it. I don't know if they still do that, it depends on the staffing levels at the time I think. And you have to have been there quite a while. I was lucky enough to have 3 days off a week for my last 4 months.

And yeah, I really did go travelling once or twice a month, mainly to Baltimore which was where my bf lived, but I also went to Pensylvania, New York, Delaware, and New Jersey. To be fair I didn't really have money for anything else though.
