i think we're mostly summer icp hopefuls! tho i had to go to london for my interview last year to the disney headquarters in hammersmith, it depends on where you are and availibility as to where you have your interview

Ive applied for the ICP 09, i hope i do not have to go down to London for a F2F interview, that would be so much hastle as im from Scotland.

  3. Hi guys!

Just thought I'd say Hi! I've just sent my CV off yesterday, so waiting for the reply.

I applied last year and got offered a job, but had to turn it down as my exam dates were changed at the last minute (damn you, Uni of Nottingham Exam Office!), so.... if anyone has any questions about the application process (phone interview, f2f etc), please please ask - I love chatting to anyone about the WDW ICP!

Aww, that must have ruined your summer to know what could have been. Was the process long?

And how was the F2F interwiev and the questions?

  6. Yeah, don't get me started!

Here my time scale of how it worked out for me. It's important to remember that I applied quite late, so the timings won't be the same.

    * 3 Jan 2008 - CV sent off.
    * 7 Jan 2008 - Got "Thank you for your application" email.
    * Phone Interview - sometime around the start of Feb
    * 14 Feb 2008 - Got invited for interview in London
    * 3 March 2008 - F2F (a really fun, and not at all nervous day)
    * 17 March 2008 - JOB OFFER!

So, total time from Application to Job offer..... 10 1/2 Weeks!

However, the Phone interview and F2S are just held in 2 phases, so you just have to wait until the next set of interviews - my dates are for the 2nd Phase of interviews.

The face to face was a really nice day, most of it is spent at the interview location, just sitting chatting to other applicants (inc. some ICP and CRP Alumni), and the Welcome Talk and actual interview were really cool. My interview was with the Operations Manager for the Attractions at EPCOT - it was SOO cool! And there were a bunch of forms to fill in, Role Preference, References, Qualifications, Visa details etc etc. But you'll be told loads of details before you get there.

As for questions, if you search for F2F Questions on the forums, you'll find thread after thread, with loads of Ideas - don't stress. Remember, if you get as far as the F2F, they want to have you!

Good luck and feel free to keep the questions coming!

Would it be good to take a dictaphone? will they mind that? As i struggle to remember everything and ususally forget stuff lol.

  8. I'm sure they wouldn't mind - they are all performers! But I really don't think you need to. They give you an information pack (with some Mickey stickers, but don't tell anyone I told you :D ) with all the information you need. And there's some cool videos that give you a nice feeling about the program.

Yes, the program which has the departure date of the 21st june is only 9 weeks, i think the other two are about 11 weeks.

When I worked it out, I got the 26th May and June 2nd as 11 1/2 weeks, and June 21st as just under 10 (by about 2 days!)
But would there be any option of extending by a couple of weeks? Or does the visa not permit that?
    xx

  13. i know loads of people did that last year. it's a bonus of the visa!

The latest start date offered is June 21 but my school may not finish until the 26 th do you think there may be a way around this?

I'm in the same position, I don't finish until the 27th. I'm hoping that I can just leave early but I guess I'll have to wait and see what's going on then

Last year (well June!) me and my friend went to Devon in the last week of term because nothing was happening then.
So as long as you don't have to get results or anything, you can miss it! (Well at Lancaster you can, not sure about elsewhere!)
But - unless you really have exams, how are they going to know? .....
I'm planning on missing it anyway! (If I get in!)

visa permits travel for an extra 30 days but extending working might be different

Can you leave early, say if you had to return to the UK for an exam, even if it was like a day early?
I know that sounds crazy but i was just wondering, but i would love to extend my time there, or even just stay there in one of the hotels for a week after it!

    Hi everyone!

I registered today and read the forums a little bit, but I have some general questions about the ICP Program and hope you can help me.

I am 23 years old student from Germany and I plan to graduate in October 2009 with a Master. After my graduation I want to have a 3-month-break and during this time I dream to work for 3 month in Disney World and now I look for the right programm to do it. Since my working time would be between November and February I don´t fit in the Summer Programm, so I was thinking about ICP. But for this programm you have to be enrolled in a U.S. university, right? That´s quite expensive due to the high tution fees. That would be ok, if I really wanted to study there, but I would need it just for the ICP.
What about you guys? Are you foreign students, who are enrolled in a U.S university for being able to work in Disney World? Or are you really a full time student in a U.S university? Or do you managed to work in Disney World in a completely different way?
And the other question is about deadline for application. When I want to start working in November/December, when should I apply?

Would be great, if you could help...
