Sara- Yeah Florida just rocks...and the Keys were just beautiful. Although I kinda missed half of the first day because I was drunk LOL I made the mistake to get insanely drunk on Mardi Gras although I knew some friends and I would be leaving for the Keys at 4am that night. So I drank until 2:30, stumbled back home and spend an entire hour on my bathroom floor trying to sober up LOL It was sooo bad. My friend hated me because the alcohol was just coming through all my pores and her car stank ( and we drove all the way to the Keys ). Ohhh my : But it was a great vacation and I would love to go back, it's so peaceful.
I hadn't even heard of the Dolphins Mall until I went to the Aventura Mall and saw that there is a TGI Fridays in the Dolphins Mall ( the one in the Aventura Mall had just been closed ). So first I wanted to go only because of that and after I found a flyer in the hotel lobby and saw that it has Papaya I HAD to go! I could live in that store! I remember when I lived at the Commons I would walk over to Papaya every week and they would always have a whole new collection!!!

About the discounts. Yeah you usually get 20% ( I think ) and around christmas you get 40% ( which is great because you can buy pressies for your family/friends ). And it's really pretty much on everything not only selected merchandise. You even get the 40% on electronic devices.
You also get lots of Discounts in Downtown Disney and the Outlet of course. Hey even at Mc Donalds in Downtown Disney. It's sooo cool!

And about the smiling....it's sooo funny, because it will be worse in Florida. You won't even notice yourself but once you go back and look at your pictures you will see you never looked that happy before in your life. All my friends and family said so and it's true. I don't have a single picture where I am not smiling.

I've been thinking bout that too! I've heard some people say u can go on to do Cruise line but whether that is true I don't know!!

Hey when you've done your year and come back can u apply again and start all over??? I would do that for the rest of my life! lol

 

lol yeah u can do the cruise, u can get permanent jobs on the cruise * i think* cos its a UK owned company!

 

we shouldnt know theres an outlet store rite next dooor,i expect most of us will be living there lol ;D ;D

I was sayin about it on here the other day saying how you get funny looks when you walk into chanel or something wearing shorts and a t-shirt! hehe it's soooo much fun! I can't afford anything there but it's real nice lookin round! I like all the weird lookin comfy seats they have all around the mall!

 

Well you definitely have good chances with the Disney cruise after you finished your IP contract. Many of my friends decided to apply for a job with the cruise afterwards and some even went for two or three contracts.
I would much rather apply for another cruise though, like norwegian. It's supposed to be a lot more fun and not so tight up, if you know what I mean. You will have good chances with any cruise line.
You can only do the Cultural Representative once, but you can apply for Guest Relations at EpCot afterwards or just go on many contracts with a cruise line. You could also go to Disneyland Paris
Halifax...you are right about the smiling....it kinda disappears when you are going back, but it's not the end of the world. You will adjust to it and for now your only thoughts should be about the fantastic time ahead of you!

Well when I applied for my job they also had the fellowship program ( where you did guest relations and worked in the pavillion, went to schools etc. ), a hospitality program for the Disney hotels and a culinary program. After 9/11 they changed all that and only had the IP for the last 3 years. They just started to offer a Guest Relations opportunity again a few months ago. I went to the german recruitment interview in fall, just our of curiosity to see how things had changed. That's how I found out about it. I understood that you just apply for it as you would for the IP. But I'm sure you can find out more through your recruitment agency after you've come back. It's a pretty nice thing though, I was really tempted ;D
