Really nice pictures. I read its not allowed to put pictures on the wall?
I read they have strict rules about that... I like to put pictures of my family and friends around my bed ;)

    Omg love love love love!

I think when I do eventually get there, I will have a camera on my 24/7 just in case, and so I can share photos like these!

when i was there we were allowed to have photos on the walls and we had a cork board to put info on as well.

lots of people had stuff on the walls they werent allowed and just took them down when an inspectgion was happening and then put them back up. if you have something on the wall your not allowed they leave you a note telling you to remove it.

They say you're not allowed to put anything up on the walls.. but everyone does it. I mean even your calander.. when i lived in The Commons, we only took are stuff down once for inspections. MOst people would probably do it for every inspection, but they just write down in the comments that you need to take your stuff down, which obviously never happens.

Now in Patterson, i've only had one inspection with them, we moved in the day before so apartment was a war zone and they accepted it.. but i've heard they quite strict about the walls (cause the complex is soo new) but it will be over a year or two old by the time any of us get down there.. so they might have loosen up a bit by then.
In a worst case scenerio.. just take it down before your inspection (inspections of apartments are posted at the clubhouse, so you have weeks of warning)

And yeah you'll probably bring your camera everywhere. One of my friends from home after my contract commented on why i bring my camera to work and everywhere with me.. and i had to explain it was just habbit from Disney, because you never know what and when something cool could happen.

ANDD Disney is pretty relaxed about Cast Members using camera on stage/while working ONLY if its a big event.. like Canada Day they were fine with it.. and when it was your last day at work and you have your Sing Outs and such.

re the wall coverings - it sounds very much like uni - we had an old building so they didn't care (even though technically we weren't meant to have anything in the walls) but when we moved into a new building they were stricter but as long as the walls were not covered and it was blue tack that would be removed (and you gave them a wee smile and a bit of chat) they were cool.

Does anyone know WHERE we are likely to get put, there seems to be talk of not getting into the commons, but they move you about a bit i cant help but wonder if we get put into another building - how do we know if it is permanent or not - i REALLY REALLY REALLY want the commons.

Also - is there somewhere we can print photos? Anyone have any idea?

you will go where they have space and the be moved permenantly to commons or patterson. generally once your there that it you shouldnt have to move again unless your in a larger appartment and all your roomies except you fiish at the same time - then they may make you move (you wont pay) so they can refurb that appartment/paint it etc but generally once your there your there -= u can expect to be moved if when u first arrive ur located in chatham or vista as these arent really the complexes where they keep crps - if by some chance you are put in one of those they will shift you over as soon as they can to commons or patterson - usually within about 6 weeks of arriving. if you want to mvoe whilst your there and there is room you can do but you pay like $50 - its weell worth paying that tho if your not happy with ya living arrnagements - i moved 3 times whilst i was there

you can print ya photos and get them copied to CD (which is great cos you can post them home ) at walgreens which is like 5 mins walk from the appartments

also with taking pics back stage its actually a termable offense they dont mind if its special occasions or just when ya about to leave but geerally its a no-no as it doesnt preserve the magic and disey is all about keeping their image

before you arrive you cant request once you have bee there for a set amount of time you ca go to the housing office and ask to move - is easier is u kow someone whose roomie is about to leave then you go request that you have their room.

arggh my nnn key is driving me mad!!!! sorry

I don't know you get put in Chatham anymore.. i'm assuming they did when you were there..
But as far as i know for CRP's they put you in Commons or Patterson. Patterson is much nicer, but it's not a CRP complex (so there's americans and people from other random places there - which is fine) and there's now bus stop. You have to walk to Chatham.. which is fine aswell.. but after living in the commons it can feel annoying. And i did realize that patterson smells kinda funny.. but i think its cause they're so new. it might be gone now. You also don't get your own washing machines..

Being put into Commons is nice. The apartments aren't as nice looking, but they're livable.. You get your own washing machines in your apartment, its a little smaller room wise/ living room.. and you get a bus stop. Ohh and only
CRP's live at The Commons. I also noticed security was a little nicer in Commons. Outlets are right across from commons which is nice too.. it's closer to panera bread..

The only thing is if you're moved into COmmons, you can move to patterson during your program.. but once you're in patterson, you're stuck there. But if you're put in Patterson, you cannot leave patterson. Which can kind of suck.

So if they puy you in Patterson you cant ask to move to the commons???? Id be so gutted! For me the commons is a big part of the experience!

i didnt mean u live permenantly in chatham :) what i meant was that i arrived in august which was stupidly busy so the commons were full so some people were temp housed in chatham and vista and then moved over tot he commons when space became available.

i didt know that about patterson - i def would pref the commons for convenience of washer/dryer in appt - used to wash all ym costumes myself as it was a nightmare getting ones that fitted!!!

You can't move from Patterson?? How come?
Also how far apart are the housing complexes?? Can you walk between them if you're visiting friends??

Thanks for all the help by the way guys and for the pics, it's so interesting to get real perspectives on everything!! :D xx

Patterson and Chatham are pretty close together, actually Patterson's bus stop is at Chatham, so u'll walk there everyday if u live in PC... i think Commons is relatively close as well.. just a longer walk... Vista is the one that i'm almost sure u cant walk to from the other complexes, but all the buses stop there so no biggie ;)

Commons is about 5 mins from chatham/patterson - vista is about 20 mins walk away - sidewalks all the way between all the complexes so yuo ca walk them although early morning/eveings be prepared for the sprinklers which do not respect sidewalks ad cover you as you try to walk past :D - also as has been said the buses also travel between them

Yeah Patterson and Chatham distance is like 5 mins walk.. commons and patterson is like 10-15min walk depending on your speed/temp outside ;)

That's the way it was on my contract (moving wise) But it could have changed by now.
Patterson was just opening up.. so it was apartment buildings by apartment buildings. I'm not sure the real reason why they couldn't. I think they just wanted to limit the moving from the different complexes. It's a lot of work (for you & Price Managment - housing complexes). If you did the contract before you'd probably think you couldn't live anywhere else other then the commons because it was where all the parties were, and all the action, but it's much changed. Because so many people have moved over there, and they put you in at random/what's available.. the parties are in both complexes now. Or that's the way it was at the end of my contract.

If i get in i'll probably want to live in The Commons for a couple months because i did love it there, but would like to move back to Patterson. I loved living there. Everything was so clean, the kitchens looked so professional and amazing.. they were bigger, and we lived right beside a laundry room.. so it was perfect.
If my old roommate and i both get in we're hoping to put a request in immediately for a One Bedroom, Commons or Patterson. They're both nice. :)

Much as I loved my last roomie (2 before her 1st was okay 2nd was a nightmare) I thik if I got back and she did I wouldnt ecessarily wat to share with ehr again. part of the experience and memories are the ones of the random roomies you get whe you start. Sure after a few months then yeah i would prob want to stay with someone i had become friends with but i think at the start i would prefer someone new just cos i know someone who was basically one fo the first uk re-aps out there - she was there with me. she was a nice girl but when she got there she was too mcuh about hanging just with the people she had known before who were perm there and it meant she never spent anytime with the rest of us so i think she missed out on a lot.

In my Disney Pack I'm sure I read something about not using the buses after 9pm unless it's for work purposes, so if you go to another apartment place that isn't within walking distance do you have to get a taxi?
