when they ask why do you want to work for Disney what do you say??? You cant exactly say because its DISNEY or can you??
I can imagine me being asked a question with a word in it i dont know and just completely blanking. Im so nervous now that youve said that.
lol i think with the word thing it's always best to ask what they mean. better than giving an answer that goes completely against you or something @ ariella: i didn't get asked which dates i wld prefer to, but if kristen called you (im in Canada too) then she prob told you about the interviews? she said there was one coming up on the west coast or something but that if i go i'll prob go to the one in Toronto next spring. i did however ask about the starting dates b/c of uni and stuff @ leeds: haha i guess you could but it'll be nice to elaborate. i said usual stuff like liking disney but also i mentioned i was keen on the programme because its a great chance to get out and meet more ppl, which is what i love.
Yeah, I'd agree with mint - if you're unsure, just ask what they mean! (Or I suppose you could have a dictionary to hand in case....!) The wait is sooo hard tho - I'm checking my emails constantly even tho its only been ... 3 days!? Oh well, moving some stuff to uni tomorrow and have no internet as far as I know, so that'll keep me occupied! Everyone - GOOD LUCK tomorrow! As always, let us know how it goes!! xx PS - PennyCrayon - I'm sure you did fine! PS - leeds - i think I completely mucked up that question and generally praised the USA rather than Disney! :-\ PS - leomgray - don't be so worried, you're so enthusiastic you'll be fine!
Not a problem! You can be sure I'll check when I'm back on Saturday! Its goona be hard tho when I'm away for 5/6 days on a trip soon! (No internet as far as I know and just wondering if the emails there...) GOOD LUCK! xx
Ginabelle I also wonder if maybe they didn't ask because by april 30th here, pretty much everyone is done school and exams unless you're doing summer courses or doing your masters. They said they would get in touch in a few weeks. I heard about my phone interview within a week of sending my resume in so this wait might be a little more stressful for me! Freckles, Ya, you are probably right. It just felt so quick. Mint, K, it's good to know another Canadian didn't get asked the dates! Ya she did talk about the interviews. It was mostly to ask where I would want to go for them since I go to school in Halifax but am from Ontario. She mentioned they were going to have a bunch of dates/cities to choose from, and that you would pick the one that worked best for you. Did you get told that too? Ya, the starting dates aren't a big deal to me because exams are done on April 27th and I have to be out of my apartmet by the 30th but I normally leave right after exams are done. I can pretty much start whenever but I just was a little panicked when I didn't get asked about them when it seemed everyone else did lol!
I'm from Newfoundland and I was talking to Kristen tonight and she didn't mention to me about the dates either but I did ask her and they are the same as the dates that people have mentioned here. Which may be bad for me because I have intersession possibly until June 26, 5 days after the latest start date.
Well i have just had my phone interview and i think it went well. I got asked which date i wanted, 26th may, 2nd june or 21st june. I was very nervous and shaking, i think i doubled me answer and repeated a lot at the resturant question but i think i came through when i said i would help as best i could to resolve any problems and if i could not, i would go get a member of management. I picked the later date. I just got asked to confirm specific things and why i wanted to do the program, and then she asked me about my course and what i would like to do after it, i said hopefully go study medicine. Michele was my interviewer today, she called me on mobile which i was not expecting, oh well. I hope i did ok, after worries now!
Zwanzig Minuten to go!!!! This is no time for German...that would really throw my interviewer off...i hope i don't cock it up by saying "Hello" wrong.
AHHHHHH!!!!!!! I got a man, couldnt make out his name..it completely threw me though!!!!! He was nice but sometimes hard to amke out what he was saying. So here are the questions i was asked: Confirmation of University, DoB, email address and if i held a british passport. How was I today! Why do I want to work at WDW? What do I think to working 60 hours a week, six days a week? The F/B question! (which i found odd cos i told him i wokred at McDonalds) Do i currently have a job? Will I be able to work in the heat of Florida? What do i think to sharing a room and living in an intercontinental dorm with eight people? What year of university am i in? What start date would i prefer? What course am i doing? Am i living in halls at the moment? Am i enjoying university and my course? Am i an energetic person? Do i get on with people easily/friendly? Do i ever get bored at work? Hope these help people prepare. For the bored question i said that with working at McDonalds i always try to find something to do, whether that is cleaning or training so I prevent myself from getting bored (the truth of the matter is the whole mcdonalds job is boring lol). He seemed nice, though if anyone knows his name please let me know as i compeltely missed it. I think he took down my email wrong as my surname is prounouced differently to what people say. My wait is 4 - 6 weeks. The guy gave nothing away which was annoying, though at the end he seemed pleased..whether that was cos the interview was over or nt i dont know!!!
wow sounds good - ur interview seemed quite long! Perhalps I got the 'Are u an energetic person' question but heard it wrong! I'm not too sure. It is difficult I always find it hard to hear on the phone, Lucca who interviewed me was really nice but it was difficult to always understand what she was saying!
lol i had the same problem! Though when i repeated energetic he said yeah so i just carried on lol. i cant belive the wait is long again! It looks like its gonna be near my birthday if i get a F2F
Thanks guys i think it went ok though i may have tried too hard. he asked at the end if i had any questions and i said how many epople often apply. he said they have around 200 positions and not to worry about it as he's sure they will find me something (i just remembered that)..thats got to be a good thing right?
I e-mailed my WDW can't remember her name. She was from France, and hade a accent so it was a little hard to understand her, and i had bad signal so i had a hard time hearing what she was saying. She called me and i had my phone interwiev. I really did a bad interwiev. I was almost asleep when the called me, and i haven't talked english for a long time so i struggeled a bit. I was invited to the interwiev in Oslo 26th og October and i could choose between March and May. She asked me: - Do u have piercings or tatoos? I said in my ears one in each - Do u have blue or pink hair colour and i was like nooooo because i herd it wrogn first, and she said that that was good - When can u travel I can travel now if u want me to - How long will u stay in Florida WDW 6 months or 12 months 1 year wouldn't that be a long time away from your friends and family? No i am 22 years old and have been away from my family and friends alot of times. Then she really laft - How did u hear about this program Then i was like: Well i have a friend and... bla bla bla... struggle with my english... bla bla bla.... and finaly i got to the point. - What are you prowd of in Norway * National suites * Mountains * Fishing is lovely * Northern lightning * Beautiful nature *Clean nature - Are u working or studying now? No i have just moved so i don't work or study at the moment Do u have a norwegian passport? yes i do And i asked her about my CV, if it seemed ok: She said, well u don't have any special F&B experience, but you are going there to learn so. But you have worked in kindergarden and things with children so that is a good thing. But it seemed like she was thinking while she was talking so i don't know if it's bad...but i doesn't heard like it was positive so That's what i rembember about the interwiev
teresmor: it sounds like you did good considering all the problems, and the fact they asked you for a face to face must be really good! maybe they want to tlak to you in person to get a full understanding of your english. my interviewer was thinking while talking, they are basically trying to hear key words in what you are saying. the key/buzz words need to be hit, though we dont know what they are! Mine was writing stuff down after i spoke!!!
There seems to be a lot of concentration on F/B and questions relating to it...have I missed something?? Is there a box I'm meant to have ticked or something?!
