haha i did this intense planning before the interview and when she called i was so surprised that i completely forgot what i wrote on it. but i hope it went pretty well though (the only thing that went against me was how my voice sounded completely husky and mutated, but i think she heard me right hopefully)

anyway, as introductions go:

hey all my name is Yisha, friends call me Yish, and i'm 20 studying at University of Toronto, double major in Anthropology and East Asian Studies. i'm not from Toronto/Canada though, i'm from Singapore in Asia so it's really a stroke of very good fortune that i'm allowed to apply because i'm sort of considered a Canadian citizen with my student visa i love pretty much everything about Disney and my favourite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. a veeeery close second would either be Mulan/Aladdin, but i absolutely love Hunchback of Notre Dame too (this is waaay too underrated!)

i've never been to WDW but hopefully that will change really soon, ahaha. have done a couple of other Disneylands though and totally love it. one of my fav Disney parks is actually DisneySea in Tokyo, Japan - it's really different from most of the Disneylands but at the same time amazing good fun and incredible theming!

& i definitely want to travel around the states after the disney thing ends. anyone up for a road trip??

i'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us in the waiting game! & it's great to meet all of you!!

 

Nice to meet you Yish. I would love to travel after the program but i dont know if i would be able to afford it. Ill decide if i get the program and nearer the time.

I hope you hear back soon! The Tokyo park sounds amazing i really want to go to it.

My auntie has offered to come and get me after the program finishes and let me go to see my family for a few days, she lives four hours away in South Carolina.

 

Hey I just had mine Lucca was really nice and I got asked the same questions other people got asked apart from 'Why do I want to work for Disney' which I was extremely surprised about and I mucked up on one because she asked if i was a '.(can't remember exact word)..' kind of person and then I looked it up and aparently it means myseterious and perplexing. Although I didn't know what it meant and now I can't remember the exact word she used. Although at the time I was like yea... I'm a hard working person, etc. Grr can't believe I screwed up. Do you think it will majorly go against me?

Nah you wont have screwed it up cos you attempted the question, though thans for the heads up, ill ask what a question means if im not sure...best thing for you to do as well teresmor. If you dont understand, just ask, im sure you wont be the first one.

 

I should have done really but I didn't want them to think I was silly although I think they probably think that anyway! : Ironic really hehe

omg i got asked the question with the weird word in it too...something like athletic but not quite...i just went into a load of mumbo jumbo about how wonderful i think i am with people...fingers crossed lol!

 

Just had mine, it felt very short which has made me a little nervous. I got asked to confirm my details, why I want to work at Disney, do I have tattoos or piercings, would I mind sharing a room with someone from another country, do I mind working long hours, and where I would like to go for my interview.

I didn't get asked what start date I would prefer, did anyone else not get asked that? I'm from Canada so I was wondering if maybe they asked different questions depending on what country you are applying from. I'm just totally freaking out and in panic/overanalyzing mode right now!

 

o god, what if i was asked teh question with the funny word and misunderstood and misheard! aaaagggh...this waiting thing is not fun.

Hey ariella its strange you werent asked dates but maybe they have only one set date for canada?! Or they're not sure on them yet...you should email them though, i'm sure they'd help you out . Did they say how long you had to wait to find out if you get a F2F?!

 

I did get asked when I wanted to go, but not where I'd like my F2F, but then I'm over in England, so maybe it is slightly different depending on the country.

Was the word "Enigmatic" by the way? What a weird question to ask!!

I was asked the "Do you get bored at work?" but I didn't quite catch the beginning and assumed she'd say "Would you get bored" so I was all "nooooo!!" In a "Are you kidding??! Course not!" kind of way. So don't worry, sounds like everyone makes some kind of a mistake!

 

I kind of rambled a bit just saying how i was hard working and stuff lol nevermind. I am a tad worried because I got told I'd hear back in 4 weeks whereas everyone on here said about 3 weeks (maybe they do the rejections later). Oh well i'm a worrier anyway but I'm not giving up hope yet!

BTW when I was asked about the piercings I said no but I have my ears pierced oops (i totally forgot in the heat of the moment) do u think this will matter much?

 

How many piercings and where in your ears? the "Disney look" says you can have one earring in each earlobe (a certain size and style) but no other piercings or tattoos. I said "Yeah I have one in each earlobe" and was then asked "OK then, but do you have any body piercings?" so don't worry!

 

Just one in each lope ;D I thought about saying about it pre interview but when the question came I just kinda blurted out no. I doubt it'll be a major issue thank God. Methinks if i denied having a big tattoo across my face that maybe a bigger issue...

 

ariella: They may have got all the information they needed from your CV so just needed to check details etc.

they would soon find out if someone was lying about tattoos etc on the F2F lol. though they can probably pick out those genuine or not.

im really baffled by what word you guys got asked...i hope they dont ask if im pedantic (i dont even know what it means lol)
