Phone Interview

You'll get it, we all applied early august so it shouldnt be much longer for you to wait.

im gonna see if i can get into the library with last year's uni card...here's hoping

 

I'm really nervous about it. I dont know how to prepare!

 

Well it says at the beginning of this thread, first or second post, what sort of things you'll be asked. So think what you'd like to say, rather than being all "oh um well you see", which is what I've spent the day doing! I'm also printing out my CV and cover letter to have with me.

I'm starting to panic now, I want this job more than anything and the interview is hopefull in 15 hours and 20 minutes!! ARGH!

Wow I was so confused for a minute, I was told my interview was tomorrow at 11, so I emailed back to check since I'd asked for today. Turns out it is today. An hour and a half to go. ARGH!

Oh PennyCrayon, a friend of mine applied back at the end of august and she hadnt heard back saying that they would contact her in 6 - 8 weeks. She emailed them on friday and got a phone interview email. So its well worth waiting a little bit and then emailing them, they love it when you're keen . Good luck!!

 

That was THE scariest thing I've ever done!!

OK I was asked to confirm my details, my email address, date of birth, university, course etc.

Asked what dates i would like to travel (3 options, I picked June 21st).

Why I want to work for Disney.

Scale 1 - 10 how well I get along with people I work with.

Would I share a room, do I get on with people from different cultures?

How well do I cope with new situations, what situations have I had to deal with.

I'd be working long days, long hours in hot weather, would that be ok?

I think that's all I got asked, they'll get in touch either way soon (can someone tell me how long they said, I'd totally blanked by that point and I can't remember!!!)

She asked me all teh same things!

That really was so scary...now we have to go back to waiting....the waits the worst!!!

I said June 21st too....but it can all change anyhow!

Ok I've just mine! Here is what I got asked (I know I'm repeating a lot of qs!):
She asked me to confirm my e-mail, d.o.b and nationality
Which departure date did I want? There was one late may, early june and late june - I picked 21st June as well.
Did I have any tattoos or body piercings?
How would I cope sharing a room with people from a different nationality?
Would I cope with 12 hour shifts sometimes 6 days a week?
How would I cope with the heat?
On a scale of 1-10 how well do I get along with people I work with?
Why do I want to work at Disney?
What would I do if I had 10 customers all demanding my attention at the same time?
Did I have any questions?

I think that was all, and they said they'd be in touch in about 3 weeks.
So back to waiting again : I didn't think it was that scarey though. I've been feeling sick with nerves all morning and it was a bit of an anticlimax in the end because it was very informal and Lucca seemed really nice.

 

Oh yeah Lucca was lovely! You seem to have been asked a couple of questions that are different though? I didn't get asked about 10 customers!

Those 3 weeks can't go fast enough I think!!

got mine in 10 mins, eek!!!

 

The latest possibility was 21st June, which is what we all seem to have picked so far!! It means I get a couple of weeks at home before jetting off to America!

After the 3 weeks (and all the other interviews) they'll be getting in touch about the F2F, either to say we didn't get one, or to invite us along to it. I think it's great that they'll tell us either way

I also picked June 21st, but I think my uni term doesn't finish until June 27th so I'm not sure how that would work.

The only question I had different from the others on this post was "do you ever get bored at work?"

and from another charlotte! lol! good luck! im not sure when my uni finishes so hopefully that would be ok, i'll have to e-mail my uni and ask!! yeah im surprised too that they tell you if you haven't got it too! saves waiting around and not knowing if you've got it or not!!

 

Those questions sounded pretty good although the one about getting on with people at work seems like a double edged sword. If u say 10/10 they might think 'well they're not being quite honest' but if u say 8/10 or something they might think 'can this person get on well with people?'

What did u guys say to that question?

I just said I've never had a problem getting along with anyone so 10, but then I explained what I would do if I ever did have a problem with someone so i kind of gave both sides I think. I hope!!!

 

Oh yeah I had "do you get bored at work" too, forgot that one, sorry!

I said "Oh definitely 9 or 10", didn't want to be all "Yeah 10, I'm great" but didn't want "I'm rubbish I hate people" either lol

 

I read somewhere that for some people after the phone interview they immediately offered you a F2F. did that happen for anyone? I just had my phone interview and it wasn't too good because I was sick and sounded terrible, but Kristen was really nice and offered to call back but I said it was all right since I missed an earlier call of hers.

Anyway it was pretty short (5-10 minutes), and she asked:

a) passport
b) date of birth
c) why do you want to work for WDW
d) how would you feel about working long hours, shifts
e) sharing rooms

So now I've got to wait for the next 2-3 weeks. Eek.

No I didn't get offered a F2F straight away...Maybe that happens to brilliant amazing people right at the end of the 3 weeks of interviews? Seems a bit daft to offer them to people on the first day? Hope so anyway!

I'm sure they won't hold it against you, everyone gets sick sometimes!!

By the way I've started a blog as a "just in case"!! So if I do get all the way to WDW next summer I'll be able to look back right at the panicked beginnings! the links in my signature if people want to check it out? Anyone else starting one?
