Patterson Court The New Disney Building

Yeah, but part of the reason they're building PC is because the Commons is to small to handle all the internationals...

 

hey, not sure if this has been said but it has been confimed by disney that Patterson Court will house a mixture of Americans and internationals, just like Vista and Chatham. It hasn't been confirmed wheather the commons will stay international or become mixed.

and about laundry... i have never seen or heard of laundry being stolen. mine never was and i sometimes left it in there for hours.

 

I would assume it would be mixed though, since the recruiters told us on the presentation that we could be living at any of the four complexes...

 

maybe they meant you could ve living in any of the complexes to start off with, before moving into the commons when there was room?

 

No they didn't say anything that could mean that, especially since they said that PT is build because there's not enough room for CRP's in the Commons anymore...

 

I for one would love to be in the new building. I like the idea of my place not being very lived in before I get there. And then there's having a new(ish) bed and the possibilty of a washing machine, it all sounds very clean! And clean is what I like!

 

Just pray you're lucky with your flat mates! There's some people out there who doesn't bother to clean at ALL! I lived with 5 other people who complained and complained about nobody cleaning. I had a six day week, and spent the whole of my one day off to clean the whole apartment and asked kindly that everyone would help from now on. But I wasn't that lucky... I don't know how many times we got beetles in our food or how many cockroaches there were in our apartment :-[

 

They should have a list for clean people and messy people. Because i'm not anal about everything being very shiny and clean, but I like things to be tidy! I can't relax if the place is a crap hole! As for bugs, if we get bugs.... i'll throw everything on the floor away. It's what my mum used to do if we were messy! lol

 

Hehe, that would be a great idea! I'm not anal about it either, but people should at leas wash their dishes instead of leaving it for days and take the trash out when it's full.

I won't be so tolerant about a really messy house next time I'm there...

 

omg thats the one thing i havent stopped wingin about to my mum....mucky people lol. im gonna make sure that when we go shoppin on our first night i buy rubber gloves lol, i dont care how everyone else wants to live, but i aint livin in sh*te. as for bugs, oh dear lord, bugs in the states are like 10x the size of the average bug lol, if ANYONE leaves the door open at night i'll kill them cos im absolutely terrified of moths and if one comes in id sleep in the bath before stayin in the room its in lol

 

I can't kill bugs
I will also never be able to sleep if I find a cockroach.
I don't have those here.
I'm scared to death of them.

If I see a cockroach in my apartment I'm goin freak. I'm okay with bugs but not where I live, and Ive never actually seen a cockroach but they really freak me out! ewwwwwwww i'm going to be buying lots of raid or whatever kills cockroaches

 

Oh my goodness is that seriously true about finding cockroaches?! I can't believe they would put us up in bulidings like that! Get pest control in there or something! Yuck!
I'll definitely be buying some disintectant and Raid as well...

They spray the apartments regularly and all that, but it doesn't help when your roomies are sloppy pigs...

I freaked out once I was going to take a shower and there was a big cockroach in the bathtub :-\

There should be a daily duty list or a weekly one or something to prevent that fron happening!
Are there inspections of the units on a regular basis? We had a townhouse in college and they would do a house inspection every like 2 weeks just to make sure the places weren't that bad....YEEEEEUCK!

 

We had a really clean apartment and the housing team regularly speay inside and out of the apartment, but we still got cockroaches. maybe because we were on the bottom floor we got more?

oh, and frogs like to come in too!

When I lived in Vista we rarely had any bugs... and we weren't even the cleanest apartment! The one thing we did get was sugar ants, just because in the UK you're so used to leaving things out for a while...but you can't do that in Orlando... if you have anything sugary...even cereal, either put it in the fridge or in an air tight container...because they WILL get in.

We had a ghecko in our apartment once...I don't think anyone freaked out though...and only had one cockroach and that was probably because we left the door open LOL

It's just one of the disadvantages in living in such a climate...you're going to get bugs anyway, and at times our apartment was sprayed every week just because it was so hot. You just have to make sure the place is tidy and don't leave any food out under any circumstances!

 

we had a few ghecko's in but that was because someone opened the window.

We did have maggots at one point... that was the most disgusting thing ever! They were in the cupboard and came from some potatoes that had been forgotten about and had started to rot.

We had the odd cockroach.. probably saw about 3 in the 3 months there... and we had some dead baby frogs that had gotten in and we hadnt seen and then they'd die... not nice!

 

Hm...So some mixed reviews....
Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to have some decent roommates and then we won't have to worry about most of this stuff.
I've seen the frog thing first hand while I was down there so that doesn't bother me...It's just everything else lol
I know it gets hot down there, but I definitely wasn't expecting these kind of stories!
