BBC america have stopped doing food - sorry about that! Theres loads of expat stores online and hopefully that shop in kissimee can be used for emergencies!

My mums a sweetie whenever im abroad she'll send me parcels with cadburys choc in! every few weeks!

Im gonna bring one of those cadburys variety packs, a bottle of ribena and maybe a pack of biscuits.

Gonna miss my hair straigheners - was wanting 2 ask about that actaully - my straighteners and hairdryer wont work over there will they cause of the voltage - is that right?

no they wil b ok jo, u just buy a us adapter and it should b ok, i think thats right anyway, ive taken my hairdryer/straighteners to florida b4 and thats what ive done!

my straighteners work over there as long as i get an adaptor for the plug hole! except they take a bit longer to heat up. but justput them on before you start drying your hair and its all good!

well i havent worn my hair in its naturally curly state since about three years ago so im full of them!

lol. i havent had mine curly for about that, i mean yeah in the house if i just leave it to dry natural but not goin out, unless its tied bk, but never loose, eww no! had a horror pic at alton towers of me with curly hair, altho did get curly hair wen it rained n everyone was like mopsy all day grrr. then the lads thought it would be funny every time my hair was perfectly straight to pour cups of water on my head, so they could 'watch' it go curly.

One time i got my suitcase searched at manchester, by this cute guy.
Cos i was going for 6 months and had gone home for christmas - my suitcase was full of junk food - crisps, choc, biscuits! The guy was really cool hes like i used to have a football scholarship in the states u need all this stuff and i dont blame u for taking it - i always did. So he never stopped me. Just hide it in a washbag or something! Tell them its a british beauty product!

id keep it in my case anyway wudnt carry it in hand luggage, i remember one year we arrived at tampa and my dad had an apple in his bag he forgot to leave on the plane n we had a sniffer dog find it on him, it looked so dodgy lol

its if u have food with u u purchased in the uk, like fruit *something to do with pesticides mixin with american, can cause certain bacteria etc etc* and its ok as long as u consume it on the plane and not take it into the country where it can spread! we just forgot lol

Wow - i didnt know that. Tho when i went to mexico they wouldnt let u bring any fruit back. Usually most food in my hand luggage off the plane is junk food - crisps and stuff so im sure they dont care!
