Thats a point... Worth taking a travel iron or will they provide stuff like that? I plan to travel light and buy stuff I need at WALLMART. Cheap and cheerful.. ;D

Best advice I can give for packing:
You're not going on a desolate island. Pack enough clothes for 10-14 days (you can re-wear jeans and denim shorts...) Unless you've already started using it, don't bring extra toiletries. They just take up a lot of room, and you'll have to go grocery shopping, anyway, so just get your shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc there. Is there anything else that you can buy over here that will take up a lot of space? *Tip: there's an outlet mall with a Polo Ralph Lauren factory outlet across the street from The Commons. Blankets, sheets, towels...BINGO!*

Pack like you're bringing all that other stuff with you. In fact, pack some stuff in. Then, whatever you're going to buy in the States, take that out. Then you'll see how much extra space you'll have!

Hey when u r selecting ur clothing.
Take one piece, and if u haven wore it for a month,
    DONT TAKE IT!!!
    U WILL NEVER WEAR IT!!!
as the Outlet is across the commons.

Yeah my parents are gonna come down too...probably in January or February. but as well i am going to have a steady stream of friends coming down throughout the whole year, which is pretty cool.

Hey you guys, I wouldn't take too much stuff if I was you. I packed about a month before I left and I took a load of clothes that I wear all the time in the UK but I hardly wore them at all in Florida. I just bought a whole load of new clothes, because it's so bloody hot out there and the clothes are cool and cheap aswelll! In the end I had to buy another huge suitcase to get it all home, and that was a right nightmare! If you accumulate loads of junk out there it will be a total waste of money because you will probably have to hand it down when you leave.
