I used to own a Little Mermaid outfit which I loved when I was younger. Does that count? ;D

  2. My mum made a Little Mermaid costume when I was a little kid

I HAVE THIS! Best thing I ever purchased over there. People stop me all the time and ask what it means. This is after they try to pronounce it and I need to do it for them. Needless to say its memorized ::)

Disney sells it in the parks - pretty sure I remember seeing them in the World of Disney!

When you go to the f2f interview you have to fill out a bunch of paperwork. One one of the pages you put the roles in order. and say what role you would not be willing to do (or something like that). But that does not guarantee anything. Most people end up getting f&b (so great if thats what you want) attractions has the least amount of positions so it is the hardest to get into, then next merch. I really don't know how they decide who goes where. Attractions was my #1 with merch as 2 and I ended up getting merch. I think they only give attractions to people who have it as #1 because it is so small.

I was talking about it with someone on the bus today. I think the UK is similar to Canada where you order what you want. Except I think it is easier to get into the HRC. She said that they briefly mentioned it at the interview. The only thing to remember is the HRC is a "participant" so you are not directly employed by Disney (or something like that) you still have almost the same training and name tag and stuff but you wouldn't get a blue maingate pass (the thing that lets us get other people in free.) You still get in free yourself, but not others. I'm not sure if there are differences in discounts or not so just ask.

Well I've just been here over a week so it is still pretty new and exciting. But I think I am going to enjoy it, ask me in a few months. I like being in Merch, there is a lot of guest interaction. I was really bumbed about not getting attractions but I think I may have just grown to hate (or dislike) the movie. It is so good I never want that to happen. It seems that there are some people who don't like it here so I don't know if they were expecting it to be different or what. I'm still very happy to be here (even though I am in a 4 bedroom with 7 other girls!) and I can't wait to spend more time in the parks... I've only been to Magic Kingdom! I'm going to Epcot tonight to watch the fireworks!

Yeah, unfortunately it does happen, people don't know what the program is about, or they had unrealistic expectations and then end up hating it, which is too bad. But you can't let them bring you down! The experience is what you make it, so make it rock!
Have lot's of fun! Illuminations is great! Though I'm sure you'll probably be seeing/hearing a lot of it in the coming months!

yup, I feel like I was really prepared coming into this. I know it's going to be hard but it will be completly worth it. I'm made friends with some people from the UK who feel similarly about things so that is good. I cried when I saw the fireworks tonight and book my first cast tour at the Magic Kingdom for Tuesday so I am definetly trying to make it a good experience. Illuminations is great! It is my favourite, I worked late last night but as soon as it starts we close the cart and run inside. It was painful to hear the beginning and not watch it so I had to see them tonight. I'm excited that I work extra magic hours next week so I'll hopefully be able to pay a little more attention to them. My mum thinks I will get sick of the fireworks but I 100% disagree with her.
