i started off wearing tights helen but my legs chafed that much with the heat that i abandoned that idea, everyone wears shorts or leggings under their skirts and little pop socks/knee highs..they smell though
I totally reccomend that you just wait until you get out here and then decide upon probably the only two sets of shoes that UK ladies wear.... the lovely Sketchers non-slip or the shoes for crews non slip.... I personally think the Sketchers are the worst things you could do to your feet, and they also smell disgusting after a good, two days or so, especially with the tights wearing. I LOVE the shoes for crews ones, they cost about $25 and you can get it taken it out of your paycheck weekly, you can wash them in the dishwasher and they don't smell. They also look pretty good and are the best non slip shoes i've had since being here. Only down side is there isn't much cushioning and after a ten hour chippie shift, you will hurt, but that's pretty much going to happen any way. Also, definitely pack a couple of pairs of shorts like Jess said. It's too hot for tights and you get a nice breeze with pop socks and shorts.
hahahahaahahahahaha dont think anybody got the peever! hahahah i nearly fell out of my chair laughing! hahahahaahahaha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCF3ywukQYA hilarious!!!
do you think it's ik to wear black sanndals with black socks in, they're really comfy you see and have great suppost for your legs if you standing ringt up and down all day
It depends on whether they are opened toed. They don't like those really. If they are closed toed then you can just wear some ckin coloured pop sock stockings or tights though in the heat I wouldn't really recommend tights.
Any Canadians know if we're allowed the taller hiking boots? Like the ones that are like high-tops style? Or do they have to be the normal ones that go to the top of your ankle? Haha I just found the perfect pair of TRUE CANADIAN boots http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10269792 These shoes are mine betch
Those are perfect!!! But not something I'd want to wear in Florida, can you imagine how hot your feet would get!? I'm waiting until you go so you can tell me what shoes to get
Haha Well I went shopping with my brother last week for his and just like generic hiking boots are fine. As long as there's no big noticable logos. Actually the ones he got (and many of the others wear, we noticed) were dark brown leather. They're actually quite nice. For workboots. But I want the 8-inch ones so that'll hide my ankle tattoo easily lol I WAS planning on getting them here from Mark's Work Wearhouse but DAYUM they're expensive there. Might check like WalMart or Zellers one day. 40 bucks vs like 140.
One of my friends who worked at Splash had to wear walking boots as part of her costume. She bought the brown $60 ones from Walmart but had to buy new ones a few weeks in as no matter how much padding she wore around her toes and ankles they continuously wore away at her skin. She got some really badly infected blisters from them. Just thought i'd let you know that cheaper isn't always better. Sometimes they are cheap for a reason

I already have a pair that may work. Though my plan was to buy them down there because there will be a bigger selection and they will be cheaper than in Canada.[
Ya I wasn't going to get the cheapest ones. But that's surprising the 60$ ones hurt her so badly. I'd expect it from the 30$ ones. Sooo many times I've made bad shoe decisions. I know exactly how she feels. Infact I have healing heals right now. Any Canadians, Timberland makes good ones I've heard. Or Kodiak too is a very popular brand. And a current CM I was talking to said definitely get waterproof ones.
