to get an interview slot so they can quiz us at the embassy then take all our finger prints and stuff...

not sure whether it's the same for you though? x x x

quiz you on what!? your knowledge of America? haha we don't have to have embassy appointments because we're America's Hat and apparently there's a deal between the two countries...

lol...i hope not!! I think it's stuff like what we'll be doing over there, how we found out about the program, where we'll be staying how we're travelling...nothing too difficult, just to make sure we're ok to get one I suppose!

Yeah I thought that that was the case for Canada, you're so lucky...the phone call alone cost over £10 (which I think is about $20 your money?)

I'm getting very excited now...although had a weird dream about missing my flight last night :-s x x

wow that's crazy. yeah I keep fearing Kristen's going to e-mail me and be like "well you missed the deadline for this _____ so you're not allowed to come anymore!" I've been harrassing her like crazy to make sure I'm caught up, lol.

Ahhhh! Starting to get majorly excited now!! I sort out my visa in a week and finish my job in 18 days :)

Anyone else starting to worry about what to pack? :p x

Six weeks tomorrow!!! Am looking forward to visa day tori, as long as I don't cut my fingers this week! Yeah I'm worried about packing- I want to take 2 cases but I'm worried about being able to carry them both! Might make sure it's two smaller ones rather than massive ones!

    And then there's hand luggage... x x x x

Had a bit of a panic attack when I saw only 43 days left... that's nothing! Oh man, our lives are going to CHANGE in a little over a month. Can't wait.

I'm trying to get all my business sorted out up here. Handing in my resignation tomorrow.. eeeee! Then it feels like it's really real.

I'm bringing wayyyy too much stuff down with me, cuz I get to drive down. I wonder if my apartment will have a TV in the living room? I want to bring mine but there's no point in having extra ones! So many little details like that that we don't know prior to going, it's annoying!

The weather is starting to get fall-like here, and I realize every single day how much I'm going to miss the seasons while I'm gone. I never thought I'd miss winter, but there's nothing like having lots of snow at Christmas time. And I know you guys from Canada and the UK fully agree with me on that one!

Visa day is coming round so quickly! Just think, this time next week it’ll all be done and dusted :) I think that’s when I will have a major reality check, I think the second I’m approved for my visa I wont be able to pretend it’s a distant future event any more! I’m starting to re-think the whole one case thing, it’s only £50 for a second case (I think that’s quite reasonable!) but don’t want to majorly over pack or struggle getting my luggage about when I get there! Decisions decisions!!

Tell me about it!! I leave my job in 18 days! The thought of how close its getting is really scaring me like mad! I’m sure we’ll all be fine and be one terrified mass of people when we get to the other side. I’m just panicking like mad about everything (will I like my job, will I like my room mates, what if everyone hates me) and all the usual things lol Feels a bit like getting ready for the first day in a new school, except that new school is thousands of miles away from everything I know!!

That’s a good thing though if you can drive down! To be honest, if you have a TV I’d bring it! The worst that’ll happen is you’d put it in your cupboard for storage because you might move flats a few times in the year! Other side of thinking is that if worst comes to worst if you ever go home for a few day’s you could get it then?? Depends on how you want to think of it!

I’m sure you’ll have a good audience in reminiscing about Autumn from pretty much any in a European pavilion! You’ll certainly have me if no one else! I loveee autumn, so I know I’ll be missing it! If worst comes to worst we’ll have to throw a UK/Canada Christmas party with loads of fake snow? :p

Yeah, same- once we've got that sorted it's going to feel really real. I'll fb you at some point about it. Think I'm going to leave my bag at my sisters work which is just round the corner from the embassy. Jenna may come and meet us after if she's free? I think the 6 week point is a good marker, remember how short summer holidays used to be at school!!

Yeah I've seen how much I want to pack, so def. needing 2 cases! But BA is fairly cheap like 30 or 40 if I book online in advance...hopefully...

Yeah, I'm going to miss the autumn, it's my fave season- although it's pretty cold and wet here today! My house backs onto the edge of a forest and I love it when the trees are orange!

How cold is it in Canada at the moment? Yeah I'm not going to miss the snow, the UK has only limited facilities when it snows and everywhere becomes stand still...it is pretty though. The only thing I'm really sad about is that I won't be going on the family ski trip... :-( but that's it!

I have the same worries too Tori, but at least we'll have the advantage that we already know some people out there and a few of our arrival group- oh and btw, I added a guy on fb- he's our date in f and b! x x x

umm well today is dreary as heck, about 20 degrees right now. Tomorrow will be 28 and then Wednesday will be 18? Crazy weather here right now.

Yeah I won't know anyone down there really! I'm outgoing and easy-going though so I'm not worried about getting along with everyone!
