that sounds like a really bad dream! I've been too busy having nightmares about the amount of essays i have to write ... and emily, it does sound like an awesome course to take! uoft offers physical education classes too, I actually found one which allowed you to do dance/gymnastics/swimming for a credit, and of course it has to be a first-year class which I'm barred from :(

haha funnily enough I'm actually very bad at baking :p but once in a while iIwhip out the pre-mixes (haha this is how BAD i am) and pretend I'm good at it ... otherwise, my money goes to those who can actually bake. fo'real.

now that you've all mentioned it I HAVE to try Kit Kat here (i think i did, but i probably forgot about it in between coffee crisp and aero). it's true though, I have Australian pride in me when it comes to chocolate ... their Cadbury chocolates are awesome!!

and I did hear about SWAP, but I agree with AshleyDawn, it seems really independent. eventually I want to work my way up to living the hippie lifestyle backpacking and working through Europe :p but for now, Disney and structured programmes!!

Fo'sho, the more structured programs are happytime <3 SWAP is very independent, but it's nice because they do help you a LOT and help you to organize a lot of things [which is the benefit of going through them]. If nothing else, they provide some really amazing opportunities. :) It's structured enough to make me feel comfortable, but independent enough not to stick you in one location or type of job.

And yeah, I definitely remember most chocolate tasting different there; but then again, I don't remember eating Cadbury anything there, and I still don't understand 'Mr Big/Coffee Crisp/Crispy Crunch' type of chocolates lol.

and Ashley - yeah, my work is pretty cool, mostly because I get to play with power tools all day [and by play I mean ignore them and study lol]. I hope you hear about your interview soon!

An Olive Garden in London? Okay seriously that is exciting haha!

Mint-The Olive Garden is this amazing italian restaurant that has the best breadsticks in the world. And really good Tiramisu. If you can get to one, definitely try it! It's some of the best food in the world. Ya, I'm signed up on the site too and I check it like once a week in case it says something lol! Wow Habitat for Humanity, that sounds so awesome! Hopefully the interview is before/after then so you can go! I've never tried a Kit Kat in the states but I had a friend who lived in Florida who had me send him a huge thing of Canadian Kit Kats since he preferred ours to the one in the states.

Emily-Ya I had a dream about the interview too! It wasn't as bad as yours but for some reason it was like this important thing to know my interview was on Dec 10th cuz that day kept being repeated over and over in my dream soooo maybe we will find out about the interviews on the 10th :p

Ashley-glad you finally heard something about the phone calls! So maybe that means in three weeks the rest of us might hear something?

This thread is bad news for my meal card, haha! I'm trying to cut down on it by sticking to soups and salads but MAN after reading through these I'm just like "CAKE RUN EVERYONE!".

Hahaha ahhh. I just wanted to update with the fact I talked to Kristen on the phone this morning :) I suppose it was the 'phone interview' and she mentioned she'll get back to me if we're selected for a face to face interview (which is supposed to be around the end of Jan, beginning of Feb). I can't see myself not getting invited so wheee! I hope everyone else is getting their phone calls soon as well so we can find out who'll be hitting Toronto in the next few months!

Hey Ash! I'm glad you got your phone call so soon!! I hope you hear about the face to face soon too :D

on an aside, we finally have real snow!! *happy happy*

You think your meal card's got it bad? I did heavy groceries this morning and am cooking ... for some friends coming to be fed and watered. *sigh* I'm finding cooking far more expensive than caffing these days. lol.

haha TIRAMISU ... i'm tempted already. <3 if you guys are coming down to T.O for the interviews we should deft. have cake! i have this cake store that i always hit when i'm busy writing essays/depressed ... heh

and Ashley!! congrats about your phone interview! i hope you get a reply soon. one of my good friends actually applied recently for this! & i'm even more psyched because it's going to be so awesome going there with a friend, i really hope she gets in! and anyway she said Kristen told her she'll know next week so i'm sure you will too =)

ugh Amnahp12, SNOW. it takes me twice as much time to get to classes now to prevent slipping on ice. i'm still glad it's pretty snow and not gross slush (which will happen come next semester, ugh).

on a random note: i was at work and shelving books and i actually had to shelve this book called Work and Play in Walt Disney World!

Hahaha! I love random Disney's. Kind of like when I'll be doing a film reading and the word Disney will pop up, out of nowhere. Nothing about it, nothing relevant, it'll just be there as a point of reference. And usually the film reading won't actually be on films, but will be about ...like, economic philosophy. lol.

as for the snow...ahh snow is my happytime! i took a long detoured walk home today so I could walk up to my knees through it [bad idea in pjs] and take random pictures. winter wonderlaaaand *musical note*

Haha YES! I havn't seen snow in two years (thanks to florida for a year and bad timing overall) so I almost fell over when I woke up last week to see it dusting everything! Pure magic, really!

It was funny too - about five months before I left for the Cult. Rep program I was working in the main library in Saskatoon and I kept coming across things while I was shelving! Mostly magazines, and stuff from the 70's and 80's, too! I took pictures and put them up because I was like "WHAT ARE THE ODDS!".

Of course some of them were on sweatshops and things... heh... but there were a few celebrating Disney's amazing musical history and impact and I was like "Wooop!". If there's one thing I love, it's belting out to the Jungle Book or Robin Hood... haha.

I would LOVE to meetup in Turrunah before the interview and once people start getting invited and we get the exact dates we can arrange something! I'm not at all nervous about the interview itself but getting there will probably give me an ulcer, even though I'm only half an hour outside of it! I feel like I need to give T-dot a chance since I hold a massive fearsome grudge against it that only an amazing cake-date can cure. And then we can know some people before we head down to Florida for the summer, whee!

Oh for sure we should go for cake when we have our interviews! We have this amazing local grocery store here that has this amazing bakery inside of it, I swear it's so hard not to buy everything when you go in there!

Ashley-Congrats on the phone interview! I hope you hear back soon and I'm sure you will be joining us for the face 2 face!

And snow? yuck! We got a massive snowstorm last night and I am not looking forward to doing groceries and going to the library today. I only like snow at Christmas time lol!

And I love the random Disney stuff! I turned on the radio this morning and there was an ad by a travel group for a Disney vacation. And every time those Disney Celebration Ads come on TV, I get way too excited :).

The Disney ads! They are EVERYWHERE! It seems I notice more Disney things at random places since I applied back in September. Like the other day I noticed this little 2 year old girl on the bus wearing a Disney Princesses hat, this woman at work who I saw walking by had a white Mickey book bag, and I saw someone on campus with a Mickey mouse watch! WATCH!! I RARELY notice that type of thing lol! :p

As for snow, I LOVE snow, but i HATE the cold! I've felt cold all the time lately and I hate it! I just want to be home tucked in my duvet with a cup of hot cocoa watching old Disney classics :)

On a last note, it looks like most of you here are heading to Toronto! Anyone heading to Montreal if there's any there? It would be great to meet some people from these boards! I would head to Toronto JUST to be able to meet all of you in person, but Montreal is so much closer to me, and considering driving conditions in the new year, well... the closer the better!

Haha, I take the constant Disney ads as some sort of sign :). Honestly, though I haven't seen as many as I have now, even before my family went down there this summer I barely read or saw anything Disney-related but after applying for this job, it's been non-stop. I remember the day I had my phone interview, well after the interview was done, I went for a walk and passed by a lady wearing one of those vintage mickey mouse sweatshirts.

I would go to Montreal since it is closer to Halifax but for some reason flights to Toronto are cheaper than flights to Montreal.

Toronto is the way for me, though I'd love to take a few days in Montreal instead :)

Ahhh, I am dreaming of warmth. I was out and about in the forest by our campus taking pics for a Studio Art project with a partner. I was a 'ghost' and thus NOT DRESSED FOR THE WEATHER ahhh... haha, because why would a ghost wear running shoes and two layers of socks? I was, in fact, bare foot for some pictures.

Ahhh the things I do for my classes x_X

Haha this is my partners favourite picture, where I am giving her the "TAKE THE EFFIN PICTURE ALREADY" face but we've artistically interpreted it as a "ghost just caught in pergatory" look.

As soon as I get the interview dates, I swear I will feel at least a few degree warmer.

LOVE the picture Ashley! And I agree, I think everyone will feel warmer once we know more about the interviews!

Awww, you look positively frigid! For your sanity, I hope you get interview dates soon! It looks so cold and snowy lol ... there WAS a ton of snow here on the weekend but since then it's been melting *squishy eyed face* ...I'm not a huge fan of melting rain-snow.

and Disney ads .... ! Well, I don't see Disney ads ... as a consequence of not watching [having] tv, being surrounded by families or children, or really going outside my happy little campus life ever, whatsoever ... ahah even during the summer, instead of watching TV I'd put on that cd they send you for background. LAAAAME. Speaking of which...I sort of feel like doing that now ... hmmm!!

Ohh I got an email *music note*

Basically, it was Kristin saying she was glad I was excited on the phone (BUT WHEN AM I NOT EXCITED. I SPEAK IN CAPS LOCKS A LOT OF THE TIME) and that they're hammering out an exact schedule with disney interviewers - that I was formally invited to (ohhh, ahhhh!) for early 2009. I hope they get the dates soon so we can create a "Toronto Interview" discussion that isnt from oct. 29th, haha. And then more of our flock will check the boards while they wait for the interview and the results, and we can be panicky together.

On a side note, this hummous pita is AWESOME. I always get tzatziki sauce(hard to spell, oh my, delicious to eat) disgustingly slothered all over it, too. Haha, OPA!

Your pizza sounds delish! I discovered a pizza/sub place steps from my door that is FAB. U. LOUS. No wonder my friend spent an ENTIRE DAY going on and on about how great it is and how lovingly the owner makes every sub and etc...etc... point being, I have a breakfast for today ;)

I really hope you find out dates too! This is liable to drive us all nuts, I'm sure, ahah. BUT awesome, on the email end! [PS I love your constant excited talking!] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWFGIG7yrp8 if you look at the link, that's my absolute favorite Disney clip of all time - and that's how I am, ALL THE TIME. hehe.

Haha awww that piece was so cute! I had the book to that movie and I made my grandma read it to me EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Needless to say, by the time I was 12 that book was battered and torn and stained... so when I went to work at Disney last year, I bought them a gorgeous new version with really lovely illustrations and sent it to them for Christmas with a really cheesy message on the inside cover about appreciating them reading to me and tolerating my childish hunger for fairytales and blablabla hahaha

I need them to call me with the interview dates now because I have NOTHING TO DO RIGHT NOW DISNEY-WISE (dont get me wrong, I have some hella hardcore studying to do). I mean if I knew the dates I could start planning my ride in, and where I would stay, and how long I would be in Toronto, and maybe some touristy crap to do. And maybe plan to stay with some friends and get some quality cute-little-independent-restaurant-foods IN MAH BELLY.

Ahahah I know exactly what you mean! There's plenty to do otherwise...but the Disney-related stuff you actually WANT to get started on..argh!
And what a cute story! That's really adorable, they must really love that :) And they probably still have the old one too LOL. Mmmmm restaurant foods..don't remind me! I went out last night for some birthdays and again tonight with my frosh..and I have an essay due tomorrow! EEEEEEK. On the bright side, winter break coming up! EEE

    got plans?

Gorgeous picture, Ashley! It actually makes me like winter, heh.

Toronto is being annoying, weather-wise. We had snow a couple of weeks and the temperatures fell like mad, and now it's back to 5 degrees and I'm walking happily in my fall coats ... lol!

And I do hope we find out the dates soon. I keep telling everyone who's excited for me that I haven't got in yet, and they're all like "you're sure to get in what are you TALKING about" (note: I talk in capslock and mad handgestures all the time too! lol) and I'm all :-[ because I don't even know when the interviews are!! Grah. And plus the fact that school is completely taking over my life ... and the lack of Disney (apart from finding more random Disney symbols) ...

I just came from the UK boards and it seems alot of people have gotten in already. UGH! *jealous face*

have a lovely winter break you'all! xx I can't wait to go home for Christmas. And watch *secret confession* Wizards of Waverly Place all day, haha.
