November 2nd Start Date!

Aah, only 10 days!!!! I still dont really believe it. I dont think I will until I step off the plane.

I started organising some of my stuff a few weeks ago, and started putting it into a suitcase the other day to try and have an idea of how much I can take. Not a lot it turns out. I thought I was already being quite restrained, but looks like I'll have to be even stricter and take some stuff out. It's the weight that's the issue, I've got plenty of space! Are you taking one or two cases?
I'm not really sure of what to take either though, and what to prioritise. Its hard thinning down your wardrobe when you're not really sure what you'll need!

I have to pay a fee to take two bags but I think it's only $30 so I'm planning on doing that. Still it's hard to think of stuff that I can't leave behind and to make it all fit! Oh and does anyone know the requirements for the business clothes? Would a sweater and dress pants or a skirt be ok or does it need to be fancier? Thanks!

 

I've been persuaded to take 2 cases. I was going to try and take just 1 but my dad pointed out that I could just split everything into 2 bags which means they'll both be a bit lighter and it'll save me having to buy another suitcase when I'm out there for coming home. I'm still going to be strict though or I'll end up packing my whole room!!
I had a look at the BA website and it's £30 for a 2nd bag if we pay online before or £40 if we pay at the airport.
For business clothes I've got shirts and skirts/trousers and a plain black dress. I think anything similar to what you wore to the interview will be fine so your dress trousers and skirt sound fine.
I can't believe it's only 11 days until we go!! ;D

 

I have my visa!!! Or at least, the embassy have said I'll get it, and they currently have my passport!

As for packing, I have a list, but I haven't started actually putting it all together yet. I'm not sure whether I'll have 1 or 2 bags, but my bags are about half the size of the maximum you're allowed. Stupid thing is, buying a new bigger bag costs about the same as taking a 2nd bag! I think I'm going to judge how much stuff I've got then decide.

For some reason, my brain is on Sunday mode today, so it feels like it's so much sooner than it did a day or two ago. I guess we're nearly at single figures too, which is just plain scary!

 

Only 4 more days to go!!!! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by, it seems like just last week that I got the call. How is everyones packing going??

Only 3 days... that's 76 hours until my plane takes off... eeeeeeeek!

 

I fly in 26 hours and 20 minutes!!! Which means I should probably be getting myself together right now rather than writing on here : I think I am nearly done, just need to put a few more things in my case and weigh it again.

So it seems I'm taking two cases. Argh... My cases are just far too small, and I have far too much stuff. Of course, I could go out and buy the maximum sized case allowed, and then everything would fit, and it'd be fine, but that requires effort! Oh, and costs the same as taking my 2nd case anyway! Now I just need to find a suitable hand luggage bag. Hmm...

 

I'm ending up taking two bags too.. and one is monstrous! haha Hopefully they let me check it without problems!
