had my visa interview today and it all went well ;D

was in and out within 2 and a half hours which is not bad compared to some others!

How prepared is everyone feeling? I've finally got my insurance and hotel sorted, have just paid the program assesment fee, and have used up a fair amount of my parents' printer ink printing off various things I need to take with me. So I'm finally getting organised!

Nerve-wracking as hell! I've booked my flight and sorted medical insurance, but I don't yet have the details I need to book my visa appointment! I can't believe it's only 18 days away!

 

That must have been soooooo hard to keep quiet, Vikki! It's impressive you managed

Found out last Friday that I'll be heading out for Nov 2nd! Like Vikki I was phoned only a week after the F2F interviews and I'm ridiculously excited ;D I'll be in UK food and beverage. Looking forward to meeting you all

 

Hi Vikki and Jen! Wow, that's so exciting! Massive congratulations. Bet you didnt think when you went for your interview that you'd be going to Florida in only a month!!!
So I guess things are feeling pretty crazy at the moment! Hope that organising stuff goes smoothly. Feels like I've been waiting for ages now, so I'm quite excited to get out there.

Thanks Sophi! ;D Yeah things are definitely crazy at the moment! A whole year of my life will change in 17 days time!!! There's so much to get my head around.

The day before Hannah rang me I'd been offered a job at 'Frankie and Benny's' too, so when I went in for my first day on the Sat I had to explain that I was leaving for a year in a matter of weeks. Thankfully the manager was great about it

Pretty sure I'm on the 13:00 from Gatwick, direct to Orlando with Virgin. I am, however, waiting for my ticket to arrive from STA to confirm this. I know this is going to sound mad, but these couple of weeks are going so slowly. Both Jen and I are waiting on paperwork for our visas, and it's horrible! Feels like it's taking ages, but I'm the kind of person who gets things done as soon as I can. I found out on a Thursday evening, and I was flapping all weekend because I couldn't ring STA to book flight and insurance until the Monday! And it's now a week later, and I can't do anything more until I get the info! Argh.

Still, epic-ly excited! Only 16 days to go!

 

Aw am on the 11:40am from Gatwick to Orlando with BA! Fly down from Glasgow to Gatwick 1st!
Yeah its gonna be a rush for you 2 to get your visa in just two weeks, but i suppose its better that way as the time will pass qucker that way, even though you dont think so lol.
I booked my travel insurance with Direct Travel you should have a look at them they're really cheap!

Thanks Callum!! Don't think it's really sunk in at all still. I was going to wait for my Visa application to come through before I booked my flights but it still hasn't reached me yet so shall try and get it all sorted tonight. I'm planning on getting a flight out on 31st, will give me a free day to do a Wallmart shop and try to get over the jet lag!
