Have you worked there before or is this your first time applying for something?

I went and did the regular ICP this summer but I don't think that's a prerequisite for applying for the Grad Program. Indeed for the regular ICP you have to be returning to college when you get back to your native country, so this program does give an extra option to finalists/non-students who want to go and work for Disney but maybe don't want to do a full year :)

We were told about it when we started uni, but then our school is a tourism and travel school so it kinda makes sense, lol, they actively promote it i thought, whats your degree in Nina?

Well i'm finishin up a Retail Marketing degree, and actually had a chance to go to Disney and do merchandising in the stores on main street, but stupidly didn't feel it would be beneficial, it proabbly wouldn't experience wise, but no doubt it wouldn've experience wise :)

I'm an English Lit student, so working in Disney won't be beneficial to my degree course whatsoever. It's just an amazing experience, and can't look bad to future employees either!

Kinda feel like my family think Im just wasting my time by going and delaying my career or something even though I don't know what the hell I wanna do anyways!!

psychology, which is a ridiculously large amount of hard work for a degree which isn't particularly useful!

I was Magic Kingdom and I was a Vacation Planner, which basically means I sold tickets. But I also did crowd control about 3 times a week for the afternoon parade in Magic Kingdom which was very hot work but pretty fun :) I actually really liked the job (got to do lots of stuff with computers and I'm a bit of a geek ;)) altho my body did not enjoy the 730am shifts. I averaged about 3 hours sleep a night!!

Has anyone heard from Yummy today? They're back in the office after Xmas...

Sounds good! did you actually get to help people plan their holidays at all or was it just selling tickets at the gate?

Let us know if anyone hears anything!

Well I had nearly 2 weeks training on 'Creating Relationship Magic' and all kinds of other selling techniques to actually help people plan their vacations, but sadly (as we were ultimately the people who made the guests part with most of their cash ;)) most people seemed to think we were trying to rip them off if we suggested more than a one day ticket (we weren't!) and 90% of people just bought a one day ticket. It was pretty frustrating, but then you occasionally got people who were actually interested in what you had to say and that made up for it. My favourite guests of the whole summer were this adorable French Canadian family. Not only did they listen to my suggestions (maybe because I spoke French but maybe they actually cared!), they bought $1500 worth of tickets and even after that the mum blew me kisses through the window!! That was awesome :)

Hi. I worked in the magic kingdom too. I sold squeeze breeze for the afternoon parade so could have seen u. Although I think u would have been right in front of the castle which is so hot so I usually tried to avoid that area. I enjoyed my job too which is probably why i want to go back so badly. I hope we hear soon.

    That is soo cute ;D

I was in florida in September but we only had one day to do disney so we got a one day hopper and I think the lady at the counter thought we were crazy but we got to do Mk, Ak and MGM and went on all the rides we wanted coz there was little or no queues, easily best day of the hols! ;)

I'm really interested in this program too. i have the pdf file about it.

if any of you get any other info put it on here!!

i have a question though - will it be 6/12 months of the same job and role or is there an option where you work in one role then half way thru change to another. im sure i heard of an option where you could swap half way through

    ;D

As far as most people are aware, the only info we really have is the pdf file, i'm staying updated, and might even try and give YJ a ring about it this Monday if i get a chance, i've sent an enquiry to Michelle there tho, and will post her reply when i get it :)

Yea i was wondering this too!I know last year with the academic program they got to switch halfway through but when i first got this pdf file I asked Alexis about it and she said she thought you would just be in the same role for the 6 months although that was before there was mention of a twelve month program or even an October leaving date!
