Do ICP actually attend courses? There are to many programs at the moment I am getting confused.

International College Program, so yup, they do one day a week i believe and have assignments, my friends doing it need to pass it all in order to continue their uni degree when they get back, not sure what kind of certificate this ICP Academic gives you, but it allows those graduates with a degree to get into the Disney scheme :)

no no, the international college program doesnt involve any actual going to college, it's just working at disney for the summer. its what im doing june til september!

the normal disney college program (not available to people outside America i dont think, well, definately not to people from the UK) is the one where they do one day a week or something.

You CAN go and do classes if you so desire, but as an ICP it's not oblligatory. For American CPs attending class is mandatory but TBH I don't think I once saw my American friends go to class or do any form of academic work, lol!!

Can they not kick you off the program if you don't attend the courses though?

I think so, which is why I was always so surprised. Maybe they went and I didn't notice, lol!

There are two different ICPs (in addition to the new UCF one this thread is about!), hence the confusion.

The ICP Summer Work program is 3-4 months, and does not involve classes.

The ICP J1 Academic program is one year long, and does involve classes. The classes for this program are provided by Disney University, but the certification is by Central Michigan University, which charges tuition fees.

American CPs do not have to go to classes , as a condition of their program - though many do because they get credit from their home college. I think J1A program participants, however, really do have to take the classes - which I believe is to do with the visa conditions.

The ICP Summer Work program almost seems perfect if its 3-4 months, but its only available if your currently in college/uni isn't it? My issue is i graduate this July, so need to be eligible, and i think the ICP UCF is the only one that gives me that option maybe?

Yeah, you have to be going back to uni for a certain amount of time afterwards to do the summer work programme

darn, thats a shame, 3-4 months would be an ideal stop break for me, maybe if i decide to do a Masters i could do it,lol, abother £7k of tutition fees though :S

    Hey Guys,
Ive applied for this programme aswell ;D,
    Im so confused about the leaving dates, did anyone get an email from Alexis a couple a months ago which said;
"Interviews for the Graduate Work and Study Program in conjunction with the University of Central Florida will be taking place early in 2007 for 6 and 12 month positions starting from July and October"

Does that mean the 6 month programme starts from July and the 12 month from October??
I think Id prefer to go for 12 month to get the most from it but thats an extra 3 months waiting around after I graduate!

Also in case anyone is confused this programme is replacing the J1 Academic programme that they had last year!!

Hi Nina. Thats interesting that there is the possibility for staying for either 6 months of 12 months. I was only given the program dates for 6 months being: July-Jan and Oct-April. I guess we will just have to wait to find out more. Anyway I have just sent of my application so i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
