I just read the post of another ICP'er who decided to leave after 5 days. I really hope that Shanya has found someone to be buddies with- it seems such a shame that this opportunity doesnt work out as planned for some people. I originally applied for the ICP but had to change to the CP program (for complicated reasons!), but i leave in July and in a way am relieved as the hours on the ICP seem to make it difficult to settle in. I just really hope Shanya has settled in now and is enjoying it- and hooks up with some other ICP'ers who seem to be feeling the same thing- i think its got to be important to remember that everyone is in the same boat when they go out there so there has to be others feeling the same way.

Itd be great if some other ICP'ers who are loving it, or alumni who have been there and done that and loved it, could post a few stories on here to settle everyones minds and keep them positive. So where are you ICP'ers?

Whats your point? you saying she won't want to hang out with glamorous ladies, and gents? lol think of all she could learn....however she is only there till august i think...or Sept... so i will assume thats what you mean and it just sounded wierd Lol..

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it is rough at the beginning, you just gotta stick through it and perservere and there'll be better days. "The Happiest Place on Earth" is really what you make it to be! and then you'll discover it really can be just that.

 

hey, I know what you mean as part of me feels the same way- but we've gotta learn NOT to worry. Most of the people who go out there love it and get so much from it they want to go back. Im so relieved Ive found these boards before I go as although there is negative and positive things on it, at least you know its honest. And also Ive met people and made friends before I even get there- Its going to be GREAT!! Remember that ;D

Just to answer Gemmas call for some positives....

I'm an alumni who's going back for more. ;D And I'm not alone. There are more than a few Alumni on here who are heading back to WDW because they absolutely loved their initial experience of the WDW International Programs.

Just keep in mind however, you are there to work (and that can be alot :-\) and it's not all necessarily going to be plain sailing. It may well be Walt Disney World, but alas, even WDW is in the real world. :-\ But if you are prepared for that, then surprises are less likely and you'll be just fine. Stick in there for a wee bit longer, you won't regret it.

Personally, I had the most amazing year, made some of the best friends I'll ever have (they are like family), learned alot about myself, did things I'd never dreamed possible and helped make dreams come true. All of this while living in the glorious sunshine and playing in the happiest place on earth at every opportunity.

It is, in essence, an awsome experience.

I think as the J in JAM I should get like a memo or something. I whole heartedly agree with this addition. We did need a flavor and Gemma's awesome.
