Money matters!

I only found out a couple of weeks back so have had no time to save! lol. am gonna try n takre about 3 or £400 wit me, have grovelled, and i mean seriously grovelled to my boss for extra hours! And i'm actually havin to stop going in town so i dnt spend money! lol.

exchange rate is really good at the mo, so at least you'll get a lot of $$$$ for the £££££ ;D ;D ;D

 

I really intended to save lots of money, but somehow I'm failing miserably. I've got a plan to have about $750 Cdn saved from working and, my saving grace, getting back $800 cdn from my taxes. Whew.... Okay, so the Cdn to US $ exchange rate isn't all that great, but I should be okay. I just know that I'm gonna spend a whole bunch of money getting ready to go.

i've only got about £350 at the mow as am still in uni and my job is back at home waitin for me i cant wait for my exams to be over then i can go back and start earning some cash just hope i can get some more before i go

I think it is about $1.80 for the £. It's a bit higher for travelers cheques!

at the moment its $1.855 to the £ thats if u buy off www.travelex.co.uk, i got my $500 of travellors cheques off them for $1.88

they are commission free but u have to go to an airport to collect them!

yeah its defo worth it, very good service as well my gran gave me £80 yest for my birthday *yes its not til 10th july but anyway* lol, so im gona get some more TCs and buy somethin in the states with it lol

hey ,i want travellers cheques.so hopefully more of that....but ill be atking cash too.prob more cash ,even tho i wud prefer travellers cheques ;D ;D. i feel safer with travellers cheques

 

more cheques bry they so easy 2 change over to cash and its safer! takin $400 cash and so far got $550 TCs but gettin another $150 TCs

i'm looking at taking a couple of hundred cheques and about $300 cash cos i get paid on the friday before i leave so i won;t have time to send away for cheques, can get cash straight from bank.

Have got my credit card on the way this week, but i am gonna get one over there in $ cos my sterling one will charge for transactions in other currencies!

Thats a good ides Bry, never thought about sorting out a credit card once there.

yeah your right bry, but if you get a nationwide credit card you dont get charged the conversion and that!! you get charged £1.50 per £100 you withdraw in maestro cash machines but when using your card full stop you don't pay for it!

i checked it all out on their site so i've applied for one so can pay my flight on it
