Speaking of the Boardwalk, I'd really like to go to Jelly Rolls! It'd be cool to see the dueling pianos! I'm going to a dueling piano bar this weekend! I'm excited!

There's 2 in Edmonton I think. The Red Piano and the Ivory club. It should be sweet!

That'll be super sweet! I wish there was something like that around here!

Jellyrolls is SO fun! I only got to go there once or twice but I wish I'd gone more! I just love a place where I can sing along to the music, and then watch random people be called up on stage to sing "I'm A Little Teapot" :D They tend to do something like that if you're celebrating your birthday at Jellyrolls! It's soooooooooooooooo funny, and therefore I love it! I'd totally drag unsuspecting people there for their birthday :D The pianists are really good too! You write down a request on a napkin, and toss it on to one of the pianos (with a tip... increases the likelihood that it's going to get played) and then they just go to town! I remember at one point it was two guys playing, and they started singing "Summer Lovin'" from Grease, and one guy totally *tried* to put on a girl voice when singing the girl part! haha Ah it's just a nice chill place to chat with friends and belt out some good tunes! Can we go now?... Please?... lol

An example of what they might do on somebody's birthday... though I don't think it's necessarily just limited to birthday's, prob just anybody who's willing haha :D

Right, I can't believe I forgot! I hang my head in shame.

There is that "other" birthday that Matty so kindly figured out through an intense mathematical process in Excel! haha Or we establish an additional Thing birthday just because birthdays are fantastical!

I will pwn you at I'm A Little Teapot. That's my "game on" face.

I'm curious about the place across from JellyRolls too, the Atlantic Dance Hall! I guess with Pleasure Island gone, it's the only kinda dance place there now isn't it?... Nothing else is really coming to mind!

I want to try the new Mediterranean restaurant that'll be replacing Spoodles too - YUM!

The ice cream place at Crossroads wasn't a Cold Stone... I don't remember what it was called but it's not there anymore either way :( There's a Fridays there though, which has killer desserts.

The complexes have 2 Cold Stones that are pretty well equal distances in opposite directions - One is in Celebration and the other is at The Loop in Hunter's Creek.

Twistee Treat outside Winn Dixie is really good and not TOO far from the complexes. It's on the same street as the Crossroads, maybe 2-3 blocks further.

And I have to share that I ate at Earl of Sandwich with disneyjess the other day and the Chinese Chicken Wrap (also available in a salad) is delicious.

I know right... it's a refreshing change from everything else in LBV/Kiss/Orl-- NOT fried haha

:D To ask for something to be not fried is like asking water to be not wet lol I remember eating at Bennigans once and a friend ordered this massive sandwich that had been deep fried. I think I may have had a coronary or three just looking at it!

But at least Disney is really opening up to a wide range of food options that are super yummy (long live the Earl!). There's a place that's across from where Pirates of the Caribbean is, and they used to do a couple nice salads I remember. Though now it seems that it's closed more often than it's open - I can't even remember the last time I saw it open let alone the last time I ate there. But still the sign is always the same - something about limited operation hours.

haha god I know.. Went to Denny's last week and ordered a 'Grand Slamwich" which is basically a Grand Slam breakfast in a sandwich. And as if scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage AND bacon isn't bad enough for you, the "toast" is made like grilled cheese (= buttered and fried)... thank god it comes in a half-portion. I barely finished the half a sandwich. I'm sure my cholestorol jumped 75 points this past week.
...lmao how old do I sound complaining about cholestorol content...

I don't know if I know that place near POTC... Really, we often just make sandwiches and bring them into the parks. But I'd say for sure they are trying to bring in other (and healthier) tastes onsite. Which is good because there are only so many hot dogs, McD's fries and churros you can eat.

they're getting rid of most places they sell McD's fries! Or so i've been reading anyways!

    I guess they're making an effort :)

I've never been to Earl of Sandwhich but after reading about some of the different sandwhiches they have I really want to try it.

Disney has made huge progress in healthy, and different options. The first time I went there as a vegetarian (probably 6 or 7 years ago) it was near impossible to find something to eat. I had a lot of onion rings and ice cream or really boring plain salads. But now they are so much better. Even down to a website that shows every single restaurant on property with all of the veggie/vegan options.

  16. They are also in the process of getting rid of McDonald's in all their parks which is another good move as well in my opinon.
