I've been to the cold stone creamery, the one at crossroads right? There is an even sweeter one by Daytona Beach
Try if you dare, but I kid you not, it's huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. Like, if I stretch out the palm of my hand, it's easily taller than from the bast of my palm to the tip of my middle finger! I would be you a whole Dole Whip that you couldn't get through it Or actually, a more worthy bet would be to see how far somebody could get through the Kitchen Sink with only 2 people. That thing is murder. Shayna and I tackled that once.... why, I don't know... but I felt sooooooooo grrrrroooooooooossssss! But not as gross as the guy beside us who ate an entire one to himself... :-\ And there's a Cold Stone Creamery at Crossroads?!?!!!! Ahhhhhh that's sooooo not far from Vista and I never went!!! :'( Granted... I'd probably opt for the one at Daytona Beach.... because a beach and ice cream just go so well together! Plus I've never been there!! I HEART beaches! And the ocean!! And sea shells! And random beach games!! Ahhh and then I can toast myself while simultaneously cooling myself off with some sweet sweet gloriousness.
shanan, are we talking about just eating it or getting my mouth round it? even if it's the latter, i'll give it a go. you don't have any pics of it do you? hehe 4 of us (aka my family minus my diabetic mother) tackled the kitchen sink quite well last time we went out. i'd like to try with 2 for sure!
I did it with two... and we were ok until we got near the bottom where all thats left is the peanut butter syrup stuff and its so sweet you just wanna die but you keep going anyways! So so hard!!
That chocolate cake is amazing it has either 10 or 12 layers I can't quite remember which though! They give you a huge piece too it's delicious I tackled that one with my mum and brother was soooo good! Would love to give the kitchen sink a go!
One is called Cold Stone Creamery and the other Marble Slab. Ones at crossroads, one in Daytona. Not sure which is which. They're basically the same thing
Nope, unfortunately I don't have any pics of it as I've never had it myself... I have enough of a hard time just trying to finish their slices of cheesecake! It is something like 12 layers I think as Sarah mentioned. And really, if you're going to tackle something with a name like "Chris' Outrageous Chocolate Cake", it's pretty much necessary to go big or go home! No way a person could get their mouth around that thing though. No way. As for those wanting to tackle the Kitchen Sink.... here are the stages you will experience... at least if it's between 2 people: Cue entrance of the kitchen sink -- lights are flicked on and off as the server announces that two "little piggies" are about to tackle the kitchen sink! Stage 1: Can't believe you're willing eating such a feast out of a kitchen sink! Dig in, and ignore the calories! : Stage 2: Sugar high. And I mean a sugar high to the fullest extent! Lots of laughing, lots of eating, more laughing... Stupid things suddenly become the most hilarious thing in the world. Stage 3: Starting to get full... but you're not even half way though... but you push on because YOU SHALL NOT QUIT! Stage 4: Starting to feel like you're carrying a load of bricks in your stomach, and yet, you keep eating for the sake of saying you defeated this gosh darn sink! Stage 5: Starts to take longer and longer just to have a spoon full of ice cream... you start to get a glazed over look in your eyes... generally stare at the spoon with ice cream for a good couple minutes, working up the motivation to take another bite Stage 6: Hit the sweet, sweet syrup stuff that has a distinct peanut buttery flavour to it combined with every single flavour of ice cream that was originally in there. Start to really feel gross. Stage 7: Decide that with the exception of the syrup, at least all of the ice cream is gone, so you call it a WIN! *Roll* on to the bus to the Magic Kingdom, let yourself digest for a bit, and prepare yourself for a second sugar high once you hit the park It's definitely not for the faint of heart! I don't know how people do it all by themselves. My only reason is that they were secretly born with 4 stomachs! I think the only time I'd be able to look at that again is if I was with a larger group, and then I'd just avoid the syrupy ending at all costs!!
I will never forgive that chick who called us little piggies!!! And oh the sugar highs... they really are a great time! Shanan next time... we take a video! ahahahaha if there is a next time... I dunno if i'd do it again... :
Though... it would probably make a miiiiiiiighty entertaining video.... just sayin'.... Don't eat for a week prior maybe?
our waitress sounded (and looked a bit) like ros off monsters inc...just imagine her saying "you've seen it on the menu" while she flashes the lights on and off
ahahaha oh I love ros!!! Her voice just makes my day!! I just love Beaches n Cream in general, such a cute little spot!
I've conquered it too! With 4 but really it was only 2. One of our friends left just when we started to talk on his phone and another really didn't eat much. So 2 and a half, at most! Plus we used straws at the end to suck up all the liquidy melted parts. I wonder how the food is there, never actually had anything besides the kitchen sink!
Whatever Matt, if 4 people were present and had spoons, then it was between 4 people! I kid, I kid! I haven't been there for anything apart from the kitchen sink either! I think it's a standard burger/fries kinda place, but still would be neat to try. I bet they do great floats! Plus it is a fun place to eat - even if you take your food outside then you can see the water/beach and just generally enjoy the sunny weather! There's a bunch of good little restaurants along there - I know there's a pizza parlor on the Boardwalk that serves until really late, and then you can just sit and look out at the water at night, so pretty. That's where I ate after my veeeeeeeery last shift! Then I forgot my purse there... and didn't realize until I got to our room at the Beach Club... so I had to book it all the way back to the Boardwalk and hope it still was there (thank goodness it was!). I've always wanted to try the Flying Fish that's on the Boardwalk too! Fish! Yum!
Was that you and Kevin Matty?? lol! Shanan you and I did a sick job just the two of us too! I never thought of using straws though thats a good method because you can try to get it down without even having to taste just! Just suck it back!!!
It is a good tactic and it shall be placed in the strategy book. But still the thought of it... I think I just heard my stomach faintly scream "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Not to mention that we did train for that with countless pints of Ben & Jerry's.... like every night... We were so gross...
True... INTENSE TRAINING! We had Ben and Jerry's pretty much once a day for 2 months straight... and then there was the day we bought 4 tubs but we wont talk about that ahahahahaha oh our poor arteries!!!
