Are you all sure its 70lb per suitcase? I know that is the international wait limit but for traveling within the U.S. my itinerary says there's a max of 50lb. I don't want to get stung in Atlanta for excess baggage!!! Can you all read your itineraries and get back to me? Much appreciated!!!! xxx

My thing from Atlantis Traveil says:

For international travel, each ticketed passanger may check a maximum of two checked bags free of charge. Each individual free checked bag cannot exceed 70 pounds/32KG and 62 inches/157cm.

Theres a bit about travel within the US not being allowed baggage over 50pounds.

    Hope this helps

Mine says exactly the same which is why I'm thinking I'm going to have to make sure that it does not exceed 50lbs. Atlanta to Orlando will count as within the US and I dont think they will let us use the excuse that we have been on an internatinal flight before that one. They are getting quite strict from what I hear.

Are you on the same flight as me Jo? 12.05pm from Manchester, terminal 2? xxx

nope each bag is 70lbs no more.we can have two suictases at 70lbs each......and dont worry about the flight from atlanta to orlando..it is very confusing...but we are still considered as international flights.........and we are flying VIA atlanta...so it would be so silly to be able to have a 70lb suitcases then say well you now can only have 50lb on this inbound flight...
    hehe i worried about this when i got mY itin.....but i rang up straight away....and she laughed at me saying don't worry....cos i was fretting about my suitacse........so were considered international one,as we are only flying via atlanta..confusing yes..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
that itineraries was very confusing....what i didnt get at first was recornfirmation of flights,.....what???.....it didnt say to do that on the return flight.........so stupid me rang up and reconfirmed as it says to do it in 70hrs blah blah...... :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[..

see u in just 6 days....

    Thanks Nat :D

Don't worry about the reconfirmation flights bit. I emailed Alexis to find out the story on that one to see if we had to ring up or whether yummy jobs were doing it, thinking we had to confirm before we went. Anyway, as you probably know now, its only when coming back to make sure the flight times haven't changed or anything and Alexis said I could find the local number for delta in orlando so i think a bit of investigative work may be order before we come home. Plus we have to remember to book a taxi back to the airport coz disney does not take us. Meers, I think is the best one and it is meant to cost about $14. Probably be easier to get groups together and share the cost.

I have to say it was very confusing!!!! I was completely puzzled!!!! xxx

I know what you mean Helen the whole re-confirmation of flight thing and suitcase issue was so confusing. I emailed Alexis as well to check. They could make things a lot easier on themselves if they just did these things in the first place! LOL ;D

    5 Days! Can't believe it!

yes i agree, very true, that itenerary should of been a bit more clear.......qwll lets hope everything we do not get any problems at the airport...im not looking forward to changing in Atlanta...only have a short time to go thru immigration thingy,(and find it :-\ :-\) and collect baggage and then find the flight to orlando.....LOL...should be fun ::)

I don't know if this helps at all, but if you've arrived from overseas, like you guys, then each suitcase is allowed a max of 30 kg, so you get 60 kg alltogether. Even if you are going on a connecting flight that's domestic. Of course one suitcase can be a little heavier if the other is light enough to make up for it.
I'm quite certain they use the metric system in airports, even though the country itself uses pounds, officially. At least it has been this way when I've travelled, even in the UK.
For those of you wondering, 30 kg is about 66 pounds, so the 70 pound estimate would be correct.
