March 23th Arrival

I've been stuck in Minneapolis TWICE before! i love the place but in March you'll be needing some Florida sunshine, not Minneapolis snow!!!!

 

That would defs suck. If I wanted an earlier flight I would have to transfer and that would make my total travel time two hours longer! So I tried to find one that was nonstop (and it wasn't even more $$$).

 

AH. Twice? That does not soothe my nerves... Hahahaha

Yeah, I tried to find some non-stops, but there just weren't any I could afford. Lame.

 

That does suck. If I had to catch a connecting flight. I would probably get lost or miss it.

 

Haha, well I keep being told it's really easy, so I'm hoping I'll be okay.

 

In a couple of days it will only be one month left!

THREE MORE WEEKS!!!! omg so much to do!

 

WHOA. That's NUTS! Can't wait! What do you have left to do? I've still go insurance and my fee thing to pay... and then I think I'm done!

 

i have to pack, dbl check my insurance too, have to get my new healthcard, have my debit account activated for the USA, and i have to get a second suitcase. Its not tons of stuff to do, I just don't want it to wait till the last minute to finish it all.

 

For sure. I DEFINITELY need to figure out what I'm taking, because I haven't thought about it much... yeah, I'll probably end up doing that at the last minute, unfortunately, it seems to be how I do things. :

 

haha, yeah packing is going to be a pain. I have nooo idea what to bring but at the same time there is sooooo much I do want to bring anf i know i can't take it all. ughh. So stressful.

 

I know what you mean. I'm limiting myself to two suitcases, and I have no idea what to put in them.

 

yeah, I'm too suitcases too, because thats all the airline allows (otherwise I would have to pay extra). Hmmm, its going to be a challenge.

Hi again everyone!

So we are nearly down to two weeks. I am sure I am not the only one feeling like time has slowed almost to a standstill!!! I just can't wait to leave at this point!

Anyway, so I know talked about trying to arrange a meet-up and I am really keen for this. I have a friend that arrived there just last month. She is having a total blast but I think there are very few opportunities in the first few weeks to meet people from other countries (besides roommates) because you are just so caught up in your own training. So I think it would be cool to really make an effort to at least meet others in our arrival group. From what I have heard the first couple of days you have plenty of admin to get through but you also get half the day off so maybe then would be a good time to meet up for dinner or maybe even hit the shops to stock up together! I know that meeting up on the first night may be a bit complicated for some of us because people will be tired from traveling and it will be difficult to communicate.

I am coming in from Cape Town so I will be doing a 2 hour flight then a 16 hour flight then another 2 hour flight so I suspect I will be a little frazzled by that stage!

Anyway, let me know what you think. It would be cool if we could meet up in the first week and get to know people from other countries form the get go. This is going to be so fun, I can't wait to get there already!

Hey! I think this is a great idea, it would be a fun way to get to know the people in our arrival group!

This may sound silly, but I really don't want to go do the big Wal-Mart trip alone. I think it would be so much more fun to do with a group of people! And getting dinner sounds really nice, too. All great ideas!

And I would definitly not want to do the Walmart trip by myself so you have me in on that plan! And I'm definitly up with meeting up with the March 23rd group! haha. Sounds like fun!!

 

Ah, okay. Haven't flown with them before. I'm going with Delta. You're getting there about four thirty, right?

Yepp. I arrive at Orlando Airport at 4:35. I'm excited now that its getting closer. Still not super excited. But I wont be till the day before.
