    What is "a pack" ???

I am really exited too, living with other people from all over the world :D My only worry is to get in conflict with one or more of my room mates. I think it is impossible to not have any conflicts at all, but I hope I won't experience any major conflicts :-\ We'll probably be to tired after work to start any discussions anyway :p

You should get a welcome pack from Disney with some information about the course and examples of forms you have to sign when you get there like your housing contract etc.

I'm not overly excited about the roommate thing, not that I have any problem getting along with people. Its just going to feel weird after not having a roommate since my first year of university in residence lol. That and the twin size mattress haha, but hey, we'll be DISNEY so its all worth it! :D

I've heard that most people get along fine but that there are always those few people that make it difficult. Fingers crossed I don't run into any problems.

I've never had an actual roommate eek lol. At uni in the UK you get your own room hehe.

I wish you could get to know your roommates before you went down. Or at least just e-mail a couple of times.

  13. Yeah, I was thinking that too. Oh well, it's sure to be exciting anyway. :)

I'll be honest, when I did the ICP back in 2006, my roommate wouldn't have been my first choice haha. We didn't argue or anything but that was because I was only going to be there for 3 and a half months and I didn't think it was worth it. But even with not the greatest roommate I had an amazing program and as you all know am so excited to return!! :)

Thats the only thing I'm really afriad of. That my roommate is going to be a big partier and going to break the housing rules and then I'm going to get termed for it.

  17. That's my worry too, Jenn. :( I hope it's not like that.

yeah. I've waited this long and put off University for a year to participate this program. It would be so sad to see it thrown out the window because of something someone else did that got me into trouble.

If you feel like you can't trust your roommates, you can apply to move. 50$, and you can usually find another spot. I was so nervous too, but then when I actually had to deal with something, like that beer bottle, I felt so empowered! I think that that episode was the start of the slide though, my roommates and I never got along after that! - But I wasn't there for my roommates. Yes, the cultural experience is nice, but I'm there for Mickey, =)

It's important to be open and honest right out the gate and just have a "roomie chat" to lay down the law! If they know that you're serious about not putting up with any kind of nonsense like leaving alcohol bottles around and you're prepared to go to security if you do find something, they won't be so inclined to risk it. If they want to take the (stupid) chance and party hearty, well then they can do it outside the walls of your humble abode. It's just one of those instances where communication and sticking up for yourself go hand in hand. Better to be straight up honest about everything so they know where you stand, versus having you be worried that they'll do something to bugger the program up for you. You don't want to end up in a situation where they can say "but you never said anything about it!".

So if you have a roomie that says "some friends are coming over for drinks" - you have every right to say "HEEEEEELLS NO!". :D All else fails, "I'm gonna call security" is a pretty big gun to have in your arsenal. Even if they're "quiet" and "discreet" - it's just not worth the risk AT ALL.
