Leaving July 15th, J1 Academic Program

Well technically its usually the second day..because you usually get there late at night..But you usually have a test yeah..I actually thought it was the third day..but could be wrong..

 

Yeah i got the call the next day they've got the wrong mobile number on their files so they rang my home number instead, i was a bit worried but all sorted now.

i've heard the lifeguards have their tests on the day after arrival because they will still need to figure out where the lifeguards are going to work depending on the test, whereas they already know the positions for the other roles (though i could be wrong). So dont drink too much on the 1st night

 

well, you know since ive already did the cult rep, i had enough drunk nights at PI and HOB ;D so im sure ill be able to resist ;D ;D ;D

 

I hope I don't get termed while I'm drunk. I'm so naughty when I've got drinks down me.

 

Has anyone booked flights or anything yet? I was going to book a flight with virgin today but wasnt sure whether we were meant to wait for confirmation of some kind from yummy, Kristens sending us some stuff this week is'nt she?

 

She was supposed to, but I suppose she's so busy and I haven't received anything yet. I will probably book flights next month, I need to decide on a reasonable travel itinery for those 30 days first.

 

If anyone here is on facebook, join the group "Disney Academic Program - July 15th" as it'd be cool if we could arrange as many of us as possible to book the same flight etc..

Leaving August 19th, J1 Academic Program

I think someone mentioned on another post, that you can book the flight yourself which is what they also told me..but there is a very small chance that you might not be offered a visa..

You best speak to yummy about it though..although i feel bad for hassling them all the time..But i just want to get book up and ready to go!

Did everyone recieve their Disney pack this morning? It looks very snazzy! ;D I havent looked through it properly yet but it looks very cool and this is the first time i've been like shit i'm going to work at WDW

 

My mum just called to say my pack has been delivered to her house. So I'm going down tonight to pick it up. Exciting stuff.

 

Its so exciting when you get your pack..it just makes it all feel real! I can't wait 2 get mine..although im suspecting that it'll be a good few weeks before i get mine yet..if u've all just got yours now..

 

Email from Kristen everyone. She wants us to email her by April 10. (next Tue) if we want our emails to be put on a list and sent to all participants. I'm gonna coz it's a good oppurtunity to get flight friends and invite them to this thread.

 

Ohhh, i wana no the people on my flight..your so lucky to be going out a month before me!

Right, I've filled out all my forms.

I'm paying for the course myself but I don't have the funds available to prove I can pay before April 20th. Therefore I've had to ask my dad to go to the bank and I'll just have to use proof of his account.

I have made a slight mistake in the criminal form and altered it by crossing it out. Does anyone think I will need a new form, I was so annoyed when I fucked that one part up after taking so much care.

What the hell are we supposed to do with the housing aggreement form and the form with the yellow bit on the back, as far as Im aware it doesnt say ANYWHERE what to do with them.

I'll be glad when all this bank stuff is sorted. I don't like the way it says if it's later than Apr 20 our program will be forefeited. lol.

Hows everyone elses experiences going?

 

I THINK from what i remeber from last year the housing forms and just sample ones and you just read them. Im sure you get given another copy of them once you get there to sign and give to them.

 

I've got to admit that was a bit stressful!! it wasn't hard but i just kept going over and over it making sure i hadn't fucked it up but finally finished it. I wasn't sure what to do with those two forms either so i sent Kristen an email asking what we were meant to do, I'll post when i find out.

I wouldn't worry about the mistake you made as long as you've crossed it out and they can clearly understand the right answer then it shouldn't be a problem. (Its going to Yummy anyway, so they'll let you know if its a problem)
