Leaving July 15th, J1 Academic Program

I just bought my insurance today, from the Yummy Jobs one.

I also paid my servis and the last of my rent so it feels real good that I have paid for everything I need to now apart from my embassy envelope and photos.

I'm so glad it seems to be all coming together.

We only just got our DS-2019 forms for those of you in other countries. Its so frustrating but UCF seem to have no sense of urgency at all. My Disney letter was dated April so I dont think it's Disney causing the hold up.

 

I got my forms just now, but the only appointment I could get was july 10th so Im screwed

 

So I bet you are all really excited because you're leaving so soon. Make sure you let us october people know how everything is going. We are in the process of returning the forms and providing bank statements etc.

Nina you will be fine. You passport should arrive just a couple of days after your appointment.

 

Thanks Louise but still my appointments on a Tuesday and I need to have it back by the Friday's post to go on Sunday so its cutting it fine

 

i never understand why they do all this visa stuff so l second....we have so much time between getting accepted and actually flying, that we actually shouldnt have stress...and now, everybody is stressed because of that visa appointment!!! i still didnt get my form...and i called the UCF lady that is supposed to take care of it, but of course she wasnt there....

Yea its badly organised alright!

 

It's probably because you lot are the first group to go out there. But that does mean you will be there months before me.

 

I hope they do a program feedback and we can put that everything was left so fucking last minute. Its rediculous. Kristen has been a big help tho, I bet without Yummy they would still not have sent us the forms.

 

Its really wierd actually, because last year we were only the second group of english people to do the college program as far as i know? And they sent everything out alot earlier just as a precaution i guess..But this year things seem to be alot slower..In all fairness tho i think they do have almost double the amount of people goin out to disney this year than they did last year..Im sure they are doing there best tho, yummy are really reliable i would say, they always make sure you've got everything done and if you haven't they ring you up to make sure your not having any problems or anything..

I think the problem with your program thought is that your the first group to ever do it i think..So there just finding there feet so to speak i would of thought..

 

unfortnually i can not agree with the recruiters here in germany....they dont tell us anything...i havent even gotten my disney package and we are leavining in 3 weeks!!! i didnt get a welcome letter from disney, i got the university stuff to fill out like 3 weeks after you guys...i could go on forever....im really gonna complain at disney about that, cause that is just not possible!! since i have been there before i kind of know whats waiting for me, but new people dont have a clou were they will be going in three weeks, and thats not fair!
well, lets all just hope that everything is gonna work out!! i just finally wanna sit at the pool at visat, chatham or commons;-)

 

I got a cancellation today for an appt on Thursday so Im happy now ;D

nooooo and i called my recruiter this morning and she said she was gonna call me back....but im still waiting for her call....i just wanna know whats going on!!

Because my original appt was too close to the 15th and I wouldnt have got my passport back in time to go!

 

oh lucky you....i called again and the answer machine anserwed...and they havent answerd yet.....im really confused....she only wanted to check were the package is with fedex and the call me back....that cant take 6 hours!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

 

so, apparently the forms were send out from france this morning....so i hope to get them on wednesday!!!! please keep your fingers crossed!!!

 

My visa was approved yesterday so i am now officially sorted, just got to pack and i'm good to go!

 

Hey, that sounds good!! congrats!! i hope i can follow you on thursday!! my recruiters also send me the ds-2019 form by email as a pdf file in case the real one doesnt arrive on time...and they said i could go to the ebmbassy with the copy and tell them im gonna send the original the next day....do you think that would work???

really?? omg, what a relief!! what did you do?? did you call them before you went there?? or did you just simply go with the copy?? were they mad or unfriendly?? im sooo nervous!!

 

Actually I didn't even have the copy :-\ I didn't tell them before. When I had my interview they told me I could send it to them or just come back again (without making an appointment). As I had to leave just a few days later I went back again and gave it to them. Wasn't a problem at all and I got my passport incl the visa on the same day back.
