Leaving December 6th

Hey all

Well some of us had our embassy interviews this week - and all went well (getting my passport back tomorrow)

Even got to meet up with a few of the othergirls - it was great finally putting faces to names!!! Cant believe Helen is flying from Manchester - hope some of the others will be too!!

Hope everyones Disney goodies got back home ok the other day!!!

Well only 4 weeks and 5 days to go now!!!

I'm a little bit of a late bloomer, I've been busy with my college course. I leave from Toronto December 6th. Is anyone else from T. Dot? I can't wait to get to meet all of you, you guys sound awesome! See you in a couple weeks!

Yep so far there is only me and Izzy flying from Manchester so if anyone else out there that is flying 6th Dec from Manchester would luv to hear from you......
Well it was a long day for me yesterday I had to get up at 3.30am ish as had a flight to catch to London then didn't get home till 11.45pm and then work today!!!! It wasn't too bad in the embassy tho only 2 hours for me and we did entertain everyone in there!!!! (well we were a bit loud )

Oh and thanks again for sorting us out with the disney stuff (got the tea pot home in one piece on the flight )

Well, i'm Amanda and Im also going to be starting on December 6th, i'll be flying out from Toronto...I'm so excited and can't wait to meet all of you.

 

we gpt a thing today saying that they had recruited loads of australian staff n we r to welcome u all....so welcome! lol

nah no aussie pavillion altho ppl ask me if im from there...lol anmd norway!uk!!!!!!!! jeez lol

cnt believe u all cum so soon that means im 1/4 done its scary and time will fly xxx

i don't know where i will be working. we were told to expect to work in various locations around WDW. *shrugs*

an aussie pavillion would be so cool though! it would give me a chance to feel really patriotic! lol. just imagine serving our aussie delicacy of vegemite! (for those who don't know what vegemite is, its this really salty yeast spread you put on bread. its a bit urrgh...) hmm...somehow i don't think that would be very popular...

Got my visa through today, so it seems even more real now, can't believe we've got less than 5 weeks to go now!!!

 

I will make sure I bring a pot of vegemite so that everyone can try!!

It's great! Nearly everyone I know who didn't grow up with it - doesn't like it... but it truly is an amazing spread if you just give it a shot (or several - it'll grow on you!

@Trueblue - whenever I see a posting from you I get the song in my head... Is it me and you... is it mum and dad... etc etc
Makes me feel very Australian.

Why are you leaving on December 6th? I thought the Aussie contingent had to go at the end of November?

do ya'll know MAOAM???its some candy, kinda like gum but u can eat in like 1 minute...so its not that sticky........its soooooooo good....i'll bring some...anyone wanna try, come and see me ;D....oh and i'll bring some "kinderschokolade"

Hey Aussie Ill try some Vegemite if its suitable for vegetarians! I like all sorts of wierd stuff so ill probably like it!

Mandy we have MAOAM in the UK although ive not tried it yet. Ill keep an eye out for it when I go the supermarket

i'm leaving later than the rest of you guys bcoz i still have exams until then. i'm really glad that they accomodated that coz otherwise i would have been unable to go! i leave sydney on the 5th, but i don't get to orlando until the 6th.

vegemite is ok. i can take it myself, but i know alot of ppl simply detest the stuff! hehe. well, its.. err... australian   and izzy, it should be suitable for vegetarians. its basically a spread made from yeast extract.

what is kinderschokolade? it sounds good! like chocolate.....mmmm.....hehe

 

hey trueblue: it is chocolate *lol* but it has got some milky cream stuff in it...ahrd to describe....but it is goog...believe me...my freinds froma merica loved it....but they were crazy about the maoam *lol*

hi Izzy, are you looking forward to starting? I'm in merch too, I got here in Sept, everyone is really nice, it isnt long now is it.

 

Its only 4 weeks and 2days (not that I'm counting or anything!! lol)

Hey Mandy! I made a good guess, eh? hehe

i think Vegemite is probably the weirdest aussie food that you'll get. well, there are widgety grubs (ie. GRUBS!!!) that the Aborigines eat, but i don't consider that cuisine! lol. we're pretty famous for our Tim Tams (choccolate biscuits) though. everytime i go into the post office, there are always all these people shoving packets of the stuff into airmail parcels to send back home! lol. but i think the biscuit company might be exporting them overseas these days, although word has it that we get the better flavours!

@ Helen: its not far away at all!! everytime i look at my suitcase, i just wanna stop all studying and revising and start packing to go!!!

 

Hey I keep thinking I will have to stary my packing, then think I have plenty of time will do it later!!!! I just don't know where to start, when we find out which airline we are flyin with and know how much luggage we are allowed to take thats when the the serious packing starts lol

OMG I have just noticed that my count down ticker thing is now down to days not months!!!!!!!!!!!

 

i would like to start packing right now too but i cant.....*lol*...cuz i only have one luggage and the other one i get next week.....so too bad.......only 4 more weeks and 1 day
