yep, cancel your plan. Mine runs out in july but i'm going to stop in June and pay the extra month up front just to make sure everything is done and dusted. You don't need to sign up for a new contract if your going to the US as international calls probably won't be included in the contract and will cost you a fortune

Now for my broadband ive been with Tiscali for 3 yrs now,
as i wont be here to use my pc for over 12 mths whats the best to do
    cancel my account with Tiscali?
I want to buy a Netbook to take out with me to florida
so what do i do about broadband?
Ive heard you get it free in youre apartment?
What do i need to take with me i carnt live without the internet,
    any advice anyone please!

  3. You won't necessarily have broadband in your apartments. Mine in Chattham didn't. There is internet there you just need a network cable.
For your tiscali account it might be worth contacting them or simply cancelling it. It would be another bill out of your UK account and money wasted as you won't be in the UK to use it.

yep, contact tiscali and cancel with them. You may have to pay the remainder again if your locked into a 12 month contract. Don;t worry about Broadband in the US as it's provided in The Commons and faster speeds available for an extra cost

netbooks are pretty much the same. grt one you like. you'll need an ethernet lead for connecting to the net and a US Power adapter

Ah cheap as chips. I'll wait and get mine out there. Wireless would be so much easier. (I think....I say it like I know what I'm going on about).

last time i was there i lived in vista, and i just bought a router for like $30 and the 6 of us split the cost, its not much and worked just fine,
i heard in the commons the internet is ok, vistas was good, may mate chatham said theres was slooooow as can be.
in turms of phone, im on T-Mobile and my contract finishes in oct and i go in sept, the guy said best thing 2 do which i can do on any natwork, is to pay off the rest of the contract, and then switch to pay as you go, that way il put like some money on be4 i go, n keep my number active my geting a card and asking my parents to put say £5 on every few months, just 2 keep the number active and so if anyone needs to contact me they can.
phones over in the USA, the plan is to get a contract opf some kind there as i had pay as u go over summer and it works out veeeery expensive. but im sure there will be a way to work out a good deal, and the call cards and phones in the rooms work out quite good,
as if someone from home calls your appt you dont pay anything, which is what i go me marde and me padre to do for me :)
    xx

    Thats PAYG mate..

Its just like the bundle thing that virgin used to do in the UK..Not sure if you ever heard of it?

Virgin still do a similar thing, but you have to give 30 days notice for it now, whereas with at&t you don't...

I'm off to florida next week now, so guna get myself a sim then so its sorted...
