I got my Disney Pack and my visa yesterday! Actually I don't think Canada needs an actual visa, I guess it's more like a clearance?
I got it yesterday too. Ya we have it much easier than our friends overseas If you're flying CAN-US you just have to get customs to stamp it at Orlando Int. If you're flying US-US then you do it when you cross the border, just let the guard know you need to sort a visa out and you'll have to go into their office. It takes like 30-45 minutes, depending on whether the guard actually knows what to do. Haha that's my brother's role and basically you have 4 posts that you rotate between every hour. First is just a greeter, standing at the bottom of the stairway on the way to the movie. Just smiling and saying hi lol Second is if you're on the podium outside while the guests are waiting to go it, usually just giving random facts about Canada. Third is inside the theatre, introducing the movie and/or thanking them at the end. Last is KidCot. You colour with kids. lol. Jaime says it's the easiest thing in the world lol and he loves it.
I think I have to go through customs in Vancouver (?) since I have a stop in Dallas, but no plane change.
ummm in that case I'd say Orlando. I'm not 100%. I'd get to YVR early and ask... Or maybe email Kristen about it? If you're just touching down to refuel or pickup passengers or something you wouldn't have enough time to go through the process. If it's a few hours layover then maybe you do it at DFW... I'm flying out of Detroit so I didn't have to look into it. Maybe some of our UK friends know, though? Anyone have a layover in Newark or something?
Ya maybe I should email Kristen. It is just an hour stop. same plan. I don't think i even get off it while in Dallas. Is your flight a direct form Detroit?
Yups. 2.5 hours nonstop. Detroit's just 45 mins to an hour from me whereas my other option is Toronto, which is 2.5 hours. And airfare is at least double out of there. Have you ever flown out of Seattle? I wonder if there's a big difference in price that way.
Its Mayyyyyy! WERE GOING TO FLORIDA NEXT MONTH!! EEEEEEEEE EXCITING And i've eventually made my Visa appointment at the London embassy! =]] Next thursday at 8am Early day for me ! hehe x
Seattle is like at least 3 hours away from me. YVR is about 30 minutes. It is probably a little cheaper going from SEA but not worth it.
I thought it was a bit early but when i rang up last thursday they offered my the day after and was like hmm no thats a bit soon then they was like next thursday at 8am and i ws thinking thats also a bit erly and so i asked if there was any interview any later on in the day and they said that all Q1 visa interviews r at 8am apparently lol
8am! I'll never be up that early.. I'm hoping that I can do mine after I've been on holiday..But I'm on holiday till June 25th..So not sure whether thats long enough for the visa to process..
From talking to people i hear that if everything is okay, you hand in your passport, and then you get it back within 5 days so as long as your all clear haha and i would not be able to get to London for 8am, so im going down the night before and stopping in ahotel near the embassy so ill be all set id hate to be late would ruin the chances of getitn a Visa x
Im waiting till i get back from my holiday on May 16th like JP, looks like il have to stay the night before-8am what a silly time! if anyone wants to share let me know to cut the cost, this job is all money!
I arranged my insurance today so all I have to do now is WAIT. That's the worse part I think, knowing that it's allllllmost time but still not quite yet. I'm booked in at the cabins at Fort Wilderness for the few extra days ;D those things are awesome lol
