am with sara on that one! I already work for Disney over here and i know the kinda thing that is expected from their cast members, and although it is hard work, it is also fun.

We do have the paper work and have been told that we work 5 out of 7 days, with 2 consecutive days off.

yeah 5 days with 8 hour shifts, or 4 days with 10 hour shifts, with the days off being consecutive but i know the pavillions been working 12 hour days at min 2 make up for newbies coming and people leaving, so there r times we will get longer hours, just take it on the chin, earn the money. hard work pays off in the end ey hun

u excited now? 2 weeks tues 4 u ull b over there in no time hun, ill let u know how we r gettin on n the weeks b4 u arrive, i know at the min u must b sympathising with ian and dan, spesh after our day in london hehe

Yep am getting excited Just had to say goodbye to my grandad though, last time i'll see him before i go and i know the goodbyes will get harder!

I am looking forward to the work though, will be cool. Sympathise with ian and dan? They having probs or sumit? I can't believe that the 2 week mark has come so fast! Am no where near ready and still have half my exams to do, and pack! lol

Thanks in advance for letting me know wot's going on cud u do me one fav though? U able to ask about and see if i am the only person arriving on july 5th? I can't believe that they wud put on special training and struff for one person! Thanks

yeah sympathise with them, havin 2 travel with me. well ian in particular lol, from 830 in manchester airport until we land at 1230 22/06 UK time. a nice 16 hours of travellin with me haha!!

@Hiani- sorry that your experience isn't what you thought it would be. But at the same time, there must be some good points to the programme- certainly the IP- otherwise no-one would stay for the year, and there are some alumni who really miss it, and some who go back to do the programme again. I realise that you are just trying to help, but anyone who thinks that its going to be a complete doss out there (that's not aimed at you btw!) needs to have a re-think. I think the vast majority of us realise that there are going to be times when we're completely shattered, and still have to go to work the next day, and when there are guests who are completely unreasonable and may upset you. But, from people I've spoken to- these are more than outweighed by life outside of work, and by the good times there are at work. It's good to make us aware of these things, but you sound quite bitter about it to me, and I'd really just find out for myself how crappy (or otherwise) the work is, when I'm over there, instead of being told it is. Its certainly not going to stop me from experiencing it myself.
Re the throw-ins, it may be that if you're in Vista you don't get them, but I know from what I've heard, that the UK IPs get a throw-in, and then the few days of training, including on the job training.
Again, I'm sorry that your experience has disillusioned you, and I hope it improves!!

I have to side with sara bry and charlotte on this one.

I am on the IP right now and having an absolutely amazing time and have done for the whole time Ive been here. Sure the work isnt always great - but what job is? The job is what you make of it - if you dont make the effort and try to enjoy it the youre not going to and thats your own fault.

Plus the IPs DO get at least two, somethimes three days off most of the time. Right now we're on 6 days but thats only cos we're waiting for the newbies to get here and get trained up - Hiani you really dont know what youre talking about when it comes to the IP so please dont speak for us.

On a lighter note, cant wait for you guys to get here in the next few days - and you too in september charlotte!!! Am still having an absolutely amazing time and dont worry you guys will too!!

Bry - i know youre the only UK person arriving on july 5th but i think there must be arrivals from other countries that date, it would make sense that there would be!!!

I personally can't wait! I definately know it's not going to be an easy life over there, I have worked for Disney for over a yera now and there are many times when it is shattering. But to be a Disney CM is a rewarding experience, providing the guests with a high class service. So if hard work is what it takes so be it. Ther is obviously some fun a long the way as part of the work.

Please give it some time Hiani, I am sure it will get better for you.

I agree completely with David though, working for Disney is reqrding, just working for Disney store is great cos we give the guests a better level of service than most other shops, and to be able to do that on peoples holidays will be better, i know that when i was there the level of service from the cast members all over disney was impecible and that is something that i am gonna keep up! Even if i the non stop smiling kills me! lol.

Guys.....2 days to go!!!

I had a 'moment' yesterday...at my friends wedding, and then when I got home, when I suddenly thought 'No I can't do this...I'm gonna miss everyone too much!!'.....but today I'm right back on top form again and still so excited!

How is everyone else?? nearly all packed??

I've got my family party today...can't wait to start eating cos the food looks great (and just to warn you guys, I do think about food A LOT...so don't be suprised if I constantly ask 'where are we going for breakfast/lunch/dinner!?' haha!! )

Can't wait to see you all on Tuesday....and thank god for this weather preparing us a bit!!! (the temperature gauge in my dad's car read 36 degrees C!!! )

@Ellen: I really felt the same...Had my big leaving party last week and it was a lot of fun, but yesterday I said goodbye to my really close friends...and I burst into tears, even though I didn´t want to... :-\
I´m still so excited, it´s just strange that you can´t share these great experiences with the people you love so much. But since everyone´s gonna be so nice in FL and we have a lot of work to do, we probably won´t get homesick.

I´m actually quite packed now, just updating my email list and stuff like that!

Can´t wait to meet you all on Monday...or Tuesday...!!!
