That reminds me, i've got to go to the German Pavilion to have one of those 2 pint beers. The glasses are huge

but what would you drink in the UK Pavillion? dark beer? guinnes or something?

 

You would just have to have at least one alcoholic drink in each of the pavilions..

Bearing in mind each beer costs about $6! So we might need to save for a while!!

 

As long as it's not Guinness then i'm OK.

 

I wonder what they have in the Norwegian paviljon, if its traditional, it should maybe be moonshine xD

 

Is moonshine not vodka based? Or have I got that completely wrong??

 

i thought moonshine was like a homemade cider?! just a really dangerous one that could blind you if you're not careful?

what beers do they have in the uk pavillion? i think i read somewhere about them having Bass, but can't really remember

I think the UK pavilion has Strongbow, Bass and a few others..Maybes guiness?

 

The beer cart sells two beers on tap, Bass Ale and Harp light. And they have strongbow and woodpecker cider and guiness.

Inside they have those and also stella and boddingtons and various others.

 

Norwegian moonshine is based on potato and is a clear spirit with a distinct disgusting taste.

Bad moonshine is often holding 50-70% potency, while multi distilled version like the one I sometimes have the nerv to drink is around 70-91% in it's potency. I'ts also forbidden to make btw, but nobody up here cares very much to be honest.

It's not uncommon to start drinking when you are around 13-16 years of age, and since you then are too young to buy beer or things like that, moonshine is the sollution. Many a young Norwegian have had some bad experiences with it. Me myself have had a couple of friends that had to be rushed to hospital with alchol intoxication. Many years ago now tho.

The danger is that unlike beer wich you really only can drink so much of before you get either too full in your tummy or get sick, this stuff can get you to hospital in small quantites. The good thing about it is that after a while, shotting tequilla without lemon or anything else is just a walk in the park.

And you can't get blind by it, it's just that some sick ppl actually sell Methanol as Moonshine to make a quick buck. That stuff can kill you, it's actually race car fuel, and it looks, and smells basically the same. Funny enough, if you suffer from methanol intoxication, you are supposed to drink large quantities of ethanol(spirits) since it will stop methanol from beeing absorbed into the body.

 

Thats pretty much the same in england..You probably have your first sip at a party when your about 10 or something! haha..

 

fair play to the norwegians, they start off on the intense stuff! haha. but yeah i started drinking early, but my parents were quite happy with me having a beer or two in front of them...meant i didn't go out and go crazy haha
