Okay, so I've been thinking about my cover letter, and I've no idea how to start it! Do I start with a 'Dear Sir/Madam' or do I just plunge straight in there, saying 'hi, this is my CV, I think you should give me this job because ...'

Also, when I signed up to Yummy Jobs, I had to upload my CV - does that CV get sent off, or do you get another chance to re-upload it for the actual application, if I wanted to add my cover letter to the document?

Oh! One more thing - I've heard something about a 'motivation' box? Is this reiterating what you put in your cover letter, is it instead of the cover letter, or is it something completely different?

Sorry about the questions - I want this so much and you lovely people on here seem to be the best people to ask about it all!

You can start your CV any way you want, but I started mine with dear sir/madam just because I thought it sounded better.

You can edit you cv as often as you want once its on there. I changed mine a couple of times because I got a job halfway through the applications and wanted to add it. It just sits there as an attachment that you can change whenever u want.

The motivation box doesn't really say what its for so I think its up to you. I put my cover letter on the same document as my cv, then used the motivation to talk more about what the program means to me personally. I know other people just used the motivation box for their cover letter. I know people have got through doing both so just do whatever u think is best!

    Hope that helps! X

on my cover letter i just put to whom it may concern or dear sir/madam

added my cover letter in front of my CV

my CV is very formal so my cover letter is funkified

in the motivation box - last time i left blank

some of the other boxes are also not applicable - theres ones asking about supervisory nad stuff so you just pick anything from option

you can change/redp your cv as many times as you like on the site until the applications close (altho i would personally get ti completed for when they open and leave it in case they start calling people for phone interviews before applications close again)

Thanks VickyPul and pinkspideruk, that definitely helped!

So for the Level of Position Held, I just put anything? Because I've never been any of those 3 and there's no option not to choose any of them!

All I put in the motivation box when I signed up was something really brief and rubbish! I didn't realise its significance, and now I'm really worried I've accidentally sent it to them. Is it really definite when you apply - there's no accidental way I could apply?

You can't send it to Yummy until you hit the application button! Basically when the deadline opens you then have to chose to submit your application for the CRP programme, so don't panic! Keep editing/tweaking.
