I'm like that every time I come back. I just sit in my room rewatching the videos I took and listening to WDW music over and over until I just depress myself more. It's probably unhealthy, but I think also quite common among us WDW obsessives!

If you get a job with a company out there and they sponsor your Visa application (you could maybe get a 3 year Visa), you could renew that Visa a maximum of 3 or 4 times and eventually become eligible to apply for a Green Card. It's doable, I'm planning on researching thoroughly over the next few days, we can give each other a hand! Of course there is the option to meet and marry an American.....

When I was out there last week I spoke to a Disney employee from Essex, working on the monorail platform at the Ticket and Transportation Centre. He did a CRP year in Epcot in 02 and Disney keep employee records so when he moved put to Florida permanently with his parents in 2006, he contacted Disney and they had jobs going so took him on. Possibilities!

    Hi guys!

I'm also applying in January, although being 23 I think I'm a little bit older than most applicants, but hopefully I will still be considered! I go to WDW every two years, as me and my family are members of the Disney Vacation Club, but I honestly never knew the CRP existed, so i'm very excited to start the application process and hopefully i'll be succesful :)

Hey guys just been reading thru ur thread and just want to say good luck wen the apps arrive, don't stress about it ul be fine! The application experience is really exciting, altho it can be very long, every time u get an email thru u get a rush! I'm off to do the crp in march and really honestly can't wait!! Also xbelbelx don't worry about age after all it is just a number, I'm 22 and will turn 23 when I'm out there, most of the applicants this year were 21-30years old, very few were under 21. Anyway guys good luck and if u have any questions feel free to ask :) xxx

Yeah me too! :( ....... I am currently working in London as a Theatre Supervisor, which is a job I really enjoy so even if I dont get on the CRP, I have that as my back-up plan!! I'd still be dissappointed though, but I will keep re-applying until they're sick of seeing my CV! haha
It's always depressing coming back from there :( As soon as I get home though, I start to countdown until the next trip (sad, I know!!) ;)

Yeah, my long term plans have all changed as I broke up with the gf a day before I went on holiday to Florida. I had thought about doing the CRP when I was 18, 4 or 5 years ago, but I'd been with her by 2 years then and we were thinking about the future so it never happened. I gravitated towards teaching in the intervening 4 years and am a Teaching Assistant at the moment, had planned to do Primary Teacher Training next year. I will keep my application in for teacher training next year incase the Disney thing doesn't come off but since I'm no longer tied to Essex, I'm no longer in a rush to get into a teaching career and I'm tempted to keep applying for the CRP if I don't get on it and, if I do, find a way to move over there permanently afterwards!

    Sounds like a good plan!
If I get it I will certainly miss my family and working in London, but I also know i'll love it out there and may also want to stay, but I'm gonna take it one little step at a time, get Christmas out of the way and then just focus on the application :)

I know I want to move out there permanently, but if I have to wait for that and get myself a skill (i.e. teacher training) before they accept my Visa application then so be it. But ya, primary focus is the CRP. Between now and Christmas I plan to get to know lots of fellow applicants, brush up my CV and Cover Letter and watch/reads loads of blogs!

    Hi again everyone!

Just wanted to say (again) how excited I am to apply for this and for all of you aswell, because i'm sure you all love WDW as much as I do, and I can see you're desperate to work there too! and I love that there are so many of you out there like me (since most people I encounter don't understand my love for this place!)
So best of luck to all of you, can't wait for January any longer! :)

Hey James, I've been stalking your posts and I want to do primary teaching in the long term as well! I sent in my PGCE application last week since I hadn't thought about the CRP before I'd practically completed it so I figured I might as well apply for both and see what happens. The best scenario would be that I get accepted for both, and I get to go out ASAP so I can defer my PGCE entry for a year then be back in time to start it a year later. Does anyone know if we are able to say when we'd prefer/when is best for us to go out there? Obviously I'm guessing they couldn't guarantee this, though.

Also, is anyone else getting really carried away with excitement? It's really bad, I keep reading everything and just imagining what it'd be like working out there. I even find myself thinking "when I'm working in Disney..." I need to stop! Someone please tell me they do this too?

Oh and a final question: does anybody know roughly how many places there are and how many applicants? I like to know so I can realistically work out the odds of me getting in :)

Awesome! I'd love to go for the PGCE but the government have cut the bursary for Primary PGCEs so With a full loan/grant I'd be living off £3,000 for the year tops. They say don't get a part time job whilst studying so I'd be living off scraps and it'd be an awful existence for a year! So I've got an application in for a GTP and I'll interview for that and CRP. Primary concern is Disney cos i wanna do that before i settle into a career! But if i get offers for both i might do the same and defer the GTP :)

I think they get 300-400 applicants, and i saw a figure quoted for hirings - can't remember of its approx 120 or approx 80.

I am massively excited and i simply have to get back out there asap!

I was told that my round of apps this year had over 1000 applicants send their cv in and its then narrowed down per stage, I think like 300- 400 get phone interviews then around 120 get face to face then the majority get hired or wait listed... That's what I heard anyway and this was similar to the year before. Don't panic about it at all, enjoy applying and get to know eachother cause u may all end up together doing the crp!! Again good luck :) xx

ohhh noooo! thats not me there is another stacey! i cant take the credit!! :D

concerning the applicant numbers ive heard its more in the thousands - god knows how the cull it down to 300 for the phone interviews it must be so harsh. Ive heard its mostly on luck!!!

    WISH IT WAS JANUARY NOW!
