This isnt a blog but its a wiki page on Walt Disney i've just finished reading it and found it so interesting so i'll add that to my list too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Disney and thats all ive found for the moment but im so addicted to reading them, i just want the applications to open now so were that one step closer haha xx
Thank you! Ill take a look at those later. Ive been watching quite a few vlogs on youtube; some of the ones i enjoy the most are actually on the CP (and from america) but it kind of gives you a feel for the programme! http://www.youtube.com/user/AaronDailies This is my fave hes on the CP programme, but hes actually carried on vlogging since hes been there!! http://www.youtube.com/user/LindsayWDWCRP This is BRILL she got put on the waitlist so gives a good perspective for if that ends up happening to us (she just got a date though YAY) http://www.youtube.com/user/TheGabriellaSofia this is good for us now! she goes into great detail of the app process gosh i just saw your count down till applications.... really 102 days?! that is so LONG! have you started trying to type a cover letter or anything yet? xx
Hiii! Looks like I’m a bit late in posting and joining up haha! My name’s Shannon and I live in North Wales and Disney is my biggest love in life since I was tiny! I’ve just turned 18 and after hitting a real low point this year which resulted in me leaving college and having a crisis of what I wanted to do in life, I came across the CRP and discovered my dream! I’ve never actually been to Disneyworld but spend practically every day watching videos and reading about it, what a magical place it would be to work oh my god. Nice to meet you all !! xx
I decidwed I would reapply again this time round and am currently working on my letter as I dont think my last one was very good. I also read a lot fo blogs, wathcing vids etc. I also have an interview cmoing up for ba cabin crew so I thought I would get my letter ready in case i actually get a job with ba as i prob wont have much time to work on one then
yeah best of luck ellie, from what ive seen your so dedicated on these boards - its a pity they dont take that into account when choosing!! WOW ba cabin crew would be an amazing job! xxx
Ill be applying in January!! I cant wait!! My name is Chantelle im 21. I did the ICP in 2010 and absolutely LOVED it, I worked in fantasyland!! I miss working there so much so I cant wait til january rolls around and I can get going with the application!!
Love the countdown someone has on their sig, I'm mentally counting down! If you want to read my blog from my ICP last year its at http://harrietsmagicaldisney.wordpress.com Its only 3 months obvs, not the whole year but I guess gives you a bit of an idea. Wish it was January already! :-\ xxx

Hey!! I'm Shellie, I'm 23 years old and I come from Blackpool! I applied in Jan this year, had a phone interview but didn't get a f2f (gutted) so I am applying again in 2012 (14 weeks tomorrow haha!) Good luck to everyone else applying!!
Your cover letter is your chance to sell yourself to yj/disney - when you write it you need to make it clear - what your expectations are, what you think you will get from it and what disney can get from you. If you have previous experience working with customers then make sure you big that up - if you say something like i would be great working for disney as i love meeting and exceeding people's expectations then back it with something like for example in my last job i did this and this etc if you are coming in with no previous experience then have a think about some of your past experiences where you have received good customer service and how it made you feel e.g. I would love to work for disney as I know they provide the best customer service in the world, i know this from my visits to the parks where the cms were able to make my dreams as a child come true. I would like the opportunity to do that for another child or something similar. if you have a lot of experience working as part of a team put that in too becauswe in disn ey itsw one big cm family. also i apologise for my terrible typos on here (hard to believe im trained typist sometimes) no excuse other than laziness and im always rushing lol once you have completed your cover letter get it checked by a friend - leave it a few days and go back print a copy off and read it again. limit yourself to a page to a page and a half. make sure its spell and grammer checked. try to make it punchy and concise - they are gonna read thousands and if you waffle (like me in my posts0 they are gonna bin it and move on. if you want to you can make it more fun by putting some pics etc on it - some people do that and some people go for more business like approach - both ways seem to work ok so long as the content of the letter is there - also dont forget what looks good in the layout on your screen may be messed up on theirs or on their print out so try and keep it to a simple layout with a standard text font e.g. ariel size 12 or comic sans so they dont strain their eyes reading it
ugh noooo I havent started it yet Nicky. Like you I keep thinking so much rests on it I cant bear to start it!! Im definitely going to get some rough copy going over the next couple of weeks though Ellie thank you for all that!! I hadnt even thought about the layout and how on different systems it could look totally different. The balance of being professional and getting your personality across is so hard. Im still toying with the idea of whether I want to include pictures - i just think so many people applying youve got to make yours stand out somehow!!!
Ugh, I do NOT want to have to rewrite my cover letter ... it took me so long to get it 'perfect'! I wonder if I could get away with keeping a lot of it the same? I mean, it got me this far last time ... ;D
Hi everyone, I have just come back from my CRP program in the UK Pavillion in Epcot, and i just wanted to post on here to let you all know that this was the BEST year of my life, and if at first you don't get through just keep on trying and trying. It truly was an amazing year and even though you may have to put your life on hold for a few months during the interview process, it will all pay off in the end i promise! A lot of people who i went into the interview with got the job, and everyone else who got wait listed ended up coming over at a later date anyway! I really don't want to give out false hope for everybody but i just wanted to point out that it IS a life changing year away for you, and i would advise everyone to keep on trying until you get through! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HUANCgT_EI I have also made a video of my year away, and wanted to share this with you all to show you some of the fun stuff i got up too during my year! Thanks everyone ;D
I totally recognise you, you turned up in a lot of the photos of people I know over there at the moment Glad you had an amazing time
