Hey I applied in january this year and my start date is september 18th 2012 which so far is the latest date given out. I woiuldn't worry about age being a factor as long as you will be 18 when the course dates are due to start. I was only 18 when i applied for the course and will only be 20 when i start. Wish all of you the best of luck when applying and like has been said, be prepared to wait. The applications opened in January, you here back end of march beginning of april, have your phone interview, wait a couple more weeks, face to face interviews beginning of june then won't here anything again till July so it is a drawn out process but it in itself is a journey and i have met so many new friends throughout. If anyone has any questions don't hesitate to send me a private message on here or add me on FB Tom Southworth
Wow that sounds like fun! But yeah, Disney would be even better I've still got a year left of sixth form lol xx
I think im a bit late to the party here Anyway im Ali from Birmingham. Same as Chelsea and a few others on here decided that university isn't always the answer. So excited even though we have ages to wait but it will defiantly be worth it! Glad to meet you all. Wish everyone the best of luck xx
LOL there are so many of us from Bristol! Never thought there would be so many in this area! We'll have to arrange to met up next year if any of us get through to the F2F interviews
Just to say best of luck, I applied in Jan this year and found out I had a date in June, I am going Jan 2012. Best advice I can give you is don't focus on Disney too much on your covering letter as they want to see YOU not Disney and if you get to the f2f, just stay calm, it is a lovely experience travelling down to London and the interview is relaxed and fun.
Thanx disney-dude thats a real good tip!! do you think there is anything we should get in there?? wow i think you have got the most perfect dates ive heard.... long enough to save but not too far away!! i hope you have the greatest time im truely SO jealous x
I was quite lucky, i said i was available jan onwards as i wanted to save and i got jan. Its good as i get to go clothes and camera shopping in the xmas sales. The best things re the 1st stage i can think to say are: dont put lots of disney characters on your letter/cv, 1 page is the max the covering letter should be, make it easy to read as they have a huge amount to read and best tip i can think of is USE the time you have now wisely. I decided to apply in aug so had till jan to do research & it paid off
OMG, that's well weird, we even spell it the same!! Where abouts you from! We are deffinatly should have a Bristol gathering if we all get through to interveiws! xxx
I know, I was flicking through this thread and glanced at your post. I thought it was me who'd written it at first! haha. I'm from the whitchurch area, what about you? Yeah, a gathering would be fun if we all get through! It'd be nice to have some friendly faces around. Suppose we better not get ahead of ourselves yet though lol. Still got such a long time to wait!
Hellooooooo When you apply in the Jan 2012, if you get a place do you go out to Florida that following year, like Sept 2012? Thanks
From what I've heard it could be any time from Sept 2012 to Sept 2013 start date so quite a long wait!
Is that because there is a waiting list or??????? I heard there is alot of competition as well are you looking forward to applying?
The last lot of applications were different to the previous ones. They have made some changes and now you can only apply once per year (they could of course change it back to twice per year but I doubt it). This has meant that everything takes longer, now you apply in jan and if you get to the face to face interviews they will be held in june. So you normally find out mid june (if you are one of the lucky ones who get a date straight away, rather than being put on a waiting list). So from that, the earliest places tend to be sept.
there is a huge amount of competition but don't be disheartened a lot of my group got in on their first attempt including myself, think they had like 1000 odd applicants or was it 2000 cant rem and about 50 got dates straight after the face to face and most of the other 50 people got dates in the months that followed (this is for the uk)
Although I'm currently waitlisted (boo hiss etc), I thought I'd add my name to the January 2012 applicants because if I don't get a date, I'm definitely going to be reapplying! So, I'm Emma, I'm 22 and I finished university this year and am currently working as a waitress. Oh, the graduate lifestyle! : Still, I'm hoping having F&B experience on my CV will make it even more likely I'll get through to at least the phone interview again!
I'm the same as the Emma above me. Currently waitlisted but introducing myself in case I'm applying again next year. Which I will be if I don't get a date . I'm Emma, 19, from Hessle and currently working occasionally at a big toy shop
Hey Emma and Emma! Lol. Even if you two don't get to go this round (which I'll keep my fingers crossed that you both do ), at least you'll have experience and know what you're doing when you reapply. We'll all be running to you two begging for hints and tips with our applications
