Jan 2008 Phone Interviews

That's so not true.... I know people who have worked for Disney who have had no experience (or maybe they worked in a shop once upon a time). To get an email saying they'll contact you in the future with regards to phone interviews means something! Many people might not even get that far.

Disney know what they're looking for.... Yummy know what Disney are looking for... trust them!

All it takes is a little Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust (and if you were smart like me, you would have gone to the Disney store and gotten pixie dust while they were giving it away )

 

i dont have travel and toursim experience :'(

Not too sure if this was meant for me, im applying for CRP. Applied back in late August...the wait has been horrid! But hey we have faith dont we Jo! Hope they dont want travel experience etc!! :-(

 

mm it makes sense that disney would want people from every walk of life, so they can bring a big range of different experience into the company.

yeh we have faith! has everyone got enough pixie dust?? they're making us wait that long i'm surprised we've not run out....

 

yep - just waiting for that magical phone call.

Well I think this proves that I was not actually lying and that he has indeed been rejected for the reason's that I said. He sent me the email that Yummy sent him last week.....its below. This Guy is an assistant manager in a supermarket

what program did he apply for? the crp can fill up fast, and there are programs that are more tourism and hospitality based, it all depends on what he went for

Maybe, but I stand by when I said... you don't HAVE to have a tourism and hospitality background.

 

Look you dont know everything, like you think you do.
This is an email from yummy stating the reason, its cause so many people applied.

 

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it sound like I was saying you were wrong, I just meant that's not always the case. I don't want people thinking that they don't have a chance, because everyone does, regardless of what they do. It's a shame your friend didn't get it because its a wonderful experience, but they can always try again. This will be my 2nd time interviewing for the CRP as it is.

And of course I don't know everything! I'm only practically perfect

 

Would 5 years at a kids camp and 1 summer at a sports resort count as tourism/hospitality do you think?

Do these count as travel/hospitality jobs?

I'm really wanting to apply after I finish up college and I'm hoping that working with kids in this setting will be enough at least for a phone interview.

 

yeh, sounds like really good experience to me.

 

i think that person prob left it late to apply otherwise we would have all had that email back if it was the case. it sounds pretty automated to me as well it prob went to quite a few people once they filled up the applicants space. I think customer service is prob more what they are looking for right?

 

i agree with DisneyGibbs, i think they might have been full but i would have thought a response like that would come from the hospitality program not the crp

 

I agree too. I don't have any tourism or hospitality experience and I got the job!
