J1 College Academic Program (Hospitality Management) arriving Oct 7th

haha!! yeah.. they're definetely used to hearing the same answers over and over again!! I really don't know how they can tell us appart hahaha!!!
Still.. I don't think we'll have the same interviewers since Mexico didn't have face to face interviews.. everything was via phone.. my interviewer was Julie De Francisco..

I really hope y'all have an amazing interview and bring us great news next week!!!

It must be so boring having to interview everyone and ask them all the same questions but they were still really nice and friendly. So as long as you are happy and friendly as well you'll be fine. Oh and dont say anything stupid like if a guest has a problem i will shout at them.

 

Just thought i'd bump this up to the top again ready for all the people who will be accepted after the interviews.

And also to say that I got my disney pack through today and am very excited.

 

How long after the interviews did u find out?

 

Less than a week. They were really quick. Hopefully u guys wont have to wait long either.

When did you get accepted on the program??
I got my confirmation like 3 weeks ago and I haven't received any pack yet!! I actually didnt know about a pack being sent now... mmhhmm.. ??? this is suuuch a different process to the H2B last year that now i'm confused hehe.. would be nice to get a pack though.. it would make it all so much real hehe so i understand your excitement about it!!

Flashinghelmet.. welcome!!! I got an offer right after my interview.. and by that, i mean minutes after it... so, I hope the process is that fast for all of you as well!!! I can't wait till you all give us the great news!!

 

Just something positive for us peeps who are getting interviewed this weekend, my best mate applied for the program but can't do it any more cos she's got a proper job but yeah, even though Yummy know she cancelled her interview they keep calling saying they have free spaces...could be good news for us!!

 

I got accepted in March so my pack has taken about 2 months to get here. So you might have to wait a bit longer. It's pretty much the same pack that I had last year.

Tiny thats good that they have free spaces. Hopefully you will all get good news.

2 weeks was my wait last year. But as I will have to wait a month for my degree class that's going to seem like nothing

God!!! My best friend is applying this weekend too and if she doesnt get it.. *I* WILL CRY!!!! but then again... I cried when they said I couldnt go in July and had to wait till October hahaha so I pretty much cry all the time haha

Don't worry guys.. you'll get it!! think positive and believe it.. as long as you're confident and the disney guys see it.. THE JOB IS YOURS!

2 weeks?? 5 Days??? pfff.. I HAD TO WAIT OVER 6 MONTHS!!!!
I had my F2F on October 2005 and then in November they said they had no positions for me just yet and they'd be in touch.. that pretty much seemed to me the kiss of death and went through depression hahahaha and then on May 10th (yes! i remember the very day) they sent me an e-mail offering me the H2B position hehe.. so... believe me!! 5 weeks was NOTHING!!! hahahaha

Though i must say that I don't know what's better: spending 6 months thinking i had no opportunity and then getting the call to travel to Orlando within a month... or getting the offer pretty fast and then waiting 4 months and 16 days till departure time... mmmm.....

 

Ohh!! one last thing!! Here's some information the guys leaving on July received from Yummy Jobs on our program...

Classes on this program are taught Applied Learning Style, meaning instead of homework and exams (there are none!) you would be responsible for learning the materials and being able to recall them and apply them to real life scenarios!

In America, university can run up to $3000 per class; tuition for this program has been specially priced for international students!

A class in America will run numerous times per day, with the days starting as early as 7am and going as late until 10pm. This allows Americans to pick class times that best fit their schedules! (on this program your classes will have a selected timeframe for consistency when scheduling your work)

The classes you are taking will only run for 2 hours a day for 8 weeks. This means, you will be at the university for 4 ½ hours one day a week (2 classes, one half hour break). You will have two classes per 8 week session!

Some university Campuses are so big, that a shuttle is required to get around them! For you the transportation is provided to class!

And Lastly, Every student will own at least one t-shirt representing their university (Most own a wardrobe full).
