IM GOING 23RD SEPTEMBER 2008 WHOOP WHOOP!!

hey i took two cases last time i went for the ICP well a suitcase and a holdal!!! But that was on a connecting flight and it wasnt a charter flight!!! are we allowed to take two bags this time do you know??? If so i am bringing loads of stuff although i was planning on buying loads there ause left so much after just two months there !!! Whats the luggage allowance??is it only 20kg??? xxxx

 

I had a look on the website cause i was also wondering about this. We are allowed two cases, neither can weigh more than 23KG and cannot be bigger than a certain size (i cant remember what the size is but it is quite big). And then you are allowed 2 hand luggage, a laptop case will count as one and then i guess we're allowed a handbag?! So its quite a lot, but im planning on doing the same thing and buying lots when i first get there. Remember bedding takes up quite a bit of space (depending what you will take) xxxx

 

After lots of deliberation I've decided to take just a few pairs of good jeans and t-shirts, some smart work attire and then that's pretty much it. The rest will pretty much be things I can't live without, silly things like photos and my favourite lounging jumper and then all my electricals. I'll go on a shopping spree and get everything else I need within the first few days. I have to pack in a couple of weeks because I won't be going home again before I leave so i'm getting overly excited about this!

My departute date is as well on september, 23rd . As I start from Germany, we won't meet at the airport. But then at least in Orlando!!

Can you book your visa appointment now or do you have to have some sort of number that you only get with your papers? Because I'm working the whole of September until the 21st and really need to be able to book a day and travel up to London, i think i'd rather risk booking the appointment now and cancel it if I don't have my papers than waiting for the papers and getting stuck with some rubbish day that will ruin my plans! lol

 

I was wondering the same thing, there is only a certain few days that i will be able to get up to London what with working and when I finish im travelling up to spend a week or so with family in Newcastle so i would rather be able to book an appointment sooner so i can arrange that. Although i dont think the september 9th group have even heard about the visas yet so i think we have a while! Cant believe it was 9 weeks yesterday guys, the time is starting to fly by! i need to think about insurance, who are you going with? xxx

 

45 days !!! still not got my insurance yet debating which will be best and wether to get 4 months or the whole year eeeek. Roll on september xxxx

Is it bad that i'm not even that bothered that the weather's so crap? I just keep thinking it doesn't matter because i'll be in Florida in 6 weeks and it's a damn site hotter! Yay!

 

Did you get your visa info from Michele? It says not to book the appointment before Sept 1st, why do you think this is? It just seems so far away to be booking it, I really don't want to be scrambling for an appointment!

 

hey yeh got th email - she means dont arrange it for before 1st sept!!! mine is on the 4th of sept at 8am lol so is nats!!! by the 1st the visa petition form that we need to take with us to the embassy will have arrived at our houses by then! hope that helps x

Hahah... I was just about to write that I realised my mistake! Have you got the number we phone for the appointments? I'm in the middle of a field in leeds and have none of my info with me! This is quite exciting though!

No it's ok, I found it, 2 minutes past 9pm! Gutted! I'm hoping for an appointment around the same time as you guys so hopefully I can meet up with you then and not be sat like a loner the next day or something! lol

 

yeh that sounds like a plan no phones are allowed in either which is rubbish but from what i remeber u can leave them at the front desk!maybe ask them if u get chance when u ring up!!!

Its a bit of a pain not being able to take a phone, esp if there is no where to leave it, feel a bit lost going all the way to London without a phone incase something happens lol! Ahh so excited! I think i have done everything i can now, paid my housing assessment fee and bought my insurance, oh and also changed up some money too lol!
