Im from the UK (Cumbria to be exact). Id quite happily do any of the roles just to be at Disney! I quite like the idea of Merchandise though, whenever ive been to Disney I spend so much time in the Disney shops anyway ;D! Most of my experience is waitressing so food + beverage would be good too.
Bonjour fellow hopefuls! Does anyone know what to do about the letter we have to write to accompany our CVs? I'm a little confused, should it just be a letter explaining our motivation for wanting to work at Disney?
A typical cover letter, so why you'd be suited to work at Disney (short summary of qualitfications), why you want to work there. Normally no more than one page in length eye catching and attention grabbing
AAAARGH I've been waiting since we last went in August 2008 when we met an ICPer in Club Cool to apply for this ;D so excited! As soon as my exams are done, this is next on my list!!
You can apply from Monday I am just putting the finishing touches to my CV and Cover letter. I just hope I have put in what is required.
Ah I see. It's very early this year. Anyone got any theories on why? Aaaargh, all the people on my facebook are going today! Jealous!
The sooer you get apply sooner you know? I don't know that's my theory on why it's a bit earlier this year as compared to others. But then again some people won't apply till later but showing you're eager ca't be bad.
Just put the finishing touches to my CV. I am very excited! I feel more hopeful as my CV has grown a fair bit since last year, so more to talk about! Although, tbf, all my relevant experience is volunteer work.
What is "tbf" I should probably start on my cover letter soon but I've never done one before so I'm lost as to how to start. My resume however I like to keep up to date so I never forget anything.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't TBF "To be frank?" Also, yeah, I better get started on mine too! DisneySpike, don't worry, cover letters aren't hard - it's basically repeating what you already have on your resume and expanding it to tell them how it will help their company. Google "cover letter examples" and it will give you a good idea of how to start. I usually start with something like this: To whom it may concern (or, if you want to be more personal, get the name of your contact for the ICP and address it to them!), I am writing to you to confirm my application for the International College Program at Walt Disney World Resort. I heard of this opportunity through _________________, and am (pleased/excited/???? insert proper word here haha!) to explore how my skills and experience can benefit Disney, and truly make the resort "the happiest place on earth" for every guest. Then, discuss relevant experience and how you can help Disney in the next paragraph. And to end it, just thank them for their time/consideration, express your excitement of the opportunity and say that you hope to hear from them soon. Should not be longer than one page. Obviously, you don't have to copy my idea or the ideas of any cover letter examples you search, but hopefully it will help you somewhat! The days are numbered until applications open in Canada! Ah, can't wait! Good luck everyone! ... and don't be shy to ask if you have other questions! If I can't answer it, I'm sure someone else will be more than happy to.
Yeah, it's to be fair, or to be frank. Someone on my facebook is at Disney for the third time! THIRD! Jealous lol
Hey, argh I feel so nervous now that UK applications are open and I still have to change my CV / finalise the cover letter! One question, how are people starting their cover letter? I'm worried mine feels too generic? :\
