You are probably right guys. It's just killing me to wait so much longer. I kind of wish they hadn't told me lol! Because before, I did expect to hear anything until after the end of October, whereas now I know that it may be sooner. Argh.x
I'm actually king of jealous of all you UK people because although you have to wait longer to get a phone interview your other interviews come soo much faster after that. Meanwhile I've known since beginning of SEPT that I have an interview but don't even get a date until december/ the new year... thats a LONG time to wait.
Yeah, DisneySpike that must be annoying having to wait for your interview, do you know you have a f2f then? But you just have to wait for it? I had my phone interview yesterday, I am hoping it went OK but all I can do is wait now, I don't want to dwell on it any more. But half of my thinks I did well the other half thinks I was an idiot. So I'll just have to wait for their verdict. It was different from what I thought it would be like as she said it would only take about 15 minutes and she didn't ask that many questions really. Although it seems that way as it just went so quick! I won't hear back until the end of Oct early November about whether or not I get a f2f interview or not though, but It's understandable as they still have more applications and phone interviews to go through. And Gabbi I'm sure you will hear back from them soon, and I'm sure the fact you worked at Disney before will be a plus for them. I guess they are checking you just didn't get fired or were stealing or something, to make sure there is nothing bad on your record, which I'm sure there won't be for you . Plus I'm sure at the moment it won't be that there are no spaces left for a phone interview as it's much easier for them to just phone you up and have an interview so I doubt they limit the spaces too much. But this is all just guess work. Hope you all hear back soon and do well with whatever stage you are each at. xx
Did anyone else from Canada almost faint when they saw they had an e-mail from Kristen this morning? I almost died of excitement but then it was just a Happy Thanksgiving message. Still very nice but not as exciting as possible info about the after New Years f2f.
WOW I just got off the phone with Kristen for my phone interview! It went by so fast, under 10 minutes.! She didnt ask that many questions, i was surprised ! Now the waiting begins..! Ouuff
Good luck guys!!! Keep a good attitude and try to stay busy and the waiting will be easy to survive. Looking forward to meet you guys in Orlando!!! "Keep moving forward!"
Hi all! I've just joined this site. I'm Aimee from the UK, live in Newcastle but studying in Edinburgh Got the email about a phone interview at the end of september and had my phone interview yesterday! Totally wasn't what I was expecting - think I've been reading forums about US applicants so I was expected to be asked all about roles and everything but it lasted less than 10mins - hope that was enough time to make a good impression! I got the same sort of questions as everyone else pretty much: why do you want to be in the ICP? do you have any piercings/tattoos? what do you already know about the program? have you come across any problems before living in student halls? can you handle a 40-60hour week with early starts/late finishes? Now it's just fingers crossed until end of october/early november to find out if I've made it to the F2F! Good luck everyone! xx
Can someone explain the different roles available? I've heard a range of things but I'm not 100% which ones relate to the summer work experience program and which ones appear to the year-long college program!
Welcome Aimee! I had my phone interview last week too and seems like it was very similar to yours. I think it was around 8 minutes, and I got pretty much the same questions.. Hope we all get good news from them soon Hi Josh ! The jobs that are listed on the website are : Merchandise (working in the stores), Full-service food and beverage host/hostesse (seating people, bringing water..., in the site down restaurants), Operations (working in the rides), Lifeguard (hotels or water parks), Quick-service food and beverage host/hostess (either work the cash, kitchen, or food kiosks), custodial (keeping the parks clean), quick-service kitchen only.. That might not be exactly right though, some people are talking about character attendant or performer... Have you applied already?
I just had my phone interview. Not sure how it went, really. I got basically the same questions as everyone else, and got asked what kind of place I would like to work in. Now to wait... :-\
Hey guys I'm new to this board so just wanted to say hi. I sent my application away 2 weeks ago so am just waiting to hear. It is something that I'd love to do but Im already worrying about my application. How is everyone else finding the waiting game? Well done to everyone that has had interviews already Jo
Hey jujjaloo! I know what you mean about the worrying, it's the same for me ! It's only been 4 days since my phone interview and it feels like im dying ! I was so stressed but I think I answered the questions alright ! Where are you from?
Im from the UK! How long did you wait for your phone interview? Can you tell me anything about it? Im going to read through all of the thread tomorrow. You'll have to keep me informed on how you get on
Had my phone interview today, I think it went okay. Tried to remember as many of my questions as possible so those who haven't had their phone interviews yet can prepare: I got asked: Why do you want to be part of the program? Can you manage a maximum 60 hour week with really early starts and late finishes? Would you mind missing graduation to be part of this experience? How much do you already know about the program? Do you have any tattoos or piercings? Can you tell us about any previous work experience? How do you feel about living with other people? Do you have any questions? They should also send you a budget sheet via email a few hours before your interview, so try and have a read over that beforehand too. Can't wait to find out whether I've got a F2F interivew ahhh! Will just have to keep busy so the time flies good luck to all xxxxx
Well I applied and got an email a week later, saying I was going to get a phone interview, a week later I got the email telling me the date of the interview with the link to book the time.. And the actual interview was a week later.. I was surprised on how fast it went. But I think it goes faster in Canada... I dont know why. I read that in the UK some had to wait until the application closes, no sure if thats true or not ! Hopefully for you it isnt ! From what Ive read, I dont think we get the same questions as the UK. I got : What date are you available ? Will you be returning to university in the fall ? Any visible tatoos or piercings ? Why do you want to work for Disney ? What do you think the program will bring you ? How would you handle working long shifts (between 40-60 hours per week) in very hot weather ? Would you mind sharing a room with someone from another country ? Any questions ? Thats pretty much all I can think of right now... It went by really fast, under 10 minutes ! She didnt ask where Id like to work or my past jobs, or things like that...
Wow that all happened really quickly Have you heard anything about a F2F interview yet? Im not liking the waiting but it is nice reading everyone elses experiences
