Last year we were given a presentation on the programme (including the disney questions for free pens ;D ) then had to line up for interview slots, the interview groups had around 8-10 people in them and lasted around 10 minutes, only a couple of us were in formal wear last year but i dont think people were invited from yummy it was more people who had recieved a promo email from uni the week before. Are you studying at JMU? :)

Don't worry Sweet Emotion, they would still send you an email if you'd been rejected, so keep holding on for now :) I just booked my telephone interview for Monday 18th October at 12.45, I'm so excited!! Wish I could remember the kind of questions they asked last year. I remember they asked me one about how I would feel about sharing a bedroom with someone else who I didn't know and who could possibly be from somewhere else in the world. They also asked me what I would do if I didn't get along with someone I worked with. Pretty standard stuff really. Anyone remember what other questions they ask?

I'm so glad I found this forum this year, last year I was so alone! :-*

Hey Olivia! How far did you get in the process last year?
I can't remember the questions from memory but if you look back in the forum you'll see the 2010 thread and everyone who had a phone interview pretty much listed their questions there. It was nothing too difficult though, not sure I want to know before hand this year, might have a quick glance lol. x

    any visible tattoos piercings?

I got my invite from Yummy Jobs (Have quoted the email below.) What sort of things where discussed in the interview last year? I got a promo e-mail too but that was to my JMU e-mail address. I'm studying International Journalism at JMU, are you studying at JMU?

Seen posters around my Uni advertising these pre~screen and interview events. Seems odd that people who havent applied can just turn up and have an interview.

    Hi,

I'm not sure if anyone has asked this or not but does anyone know how many people they recruit from Australia? Also when we can apply? :s I sent an email to the listed address on the international program website a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything...

We were asked if we had any tattoos, if we had any relevant experience and what one word would we use to describe how we felt about the programme. It was a really short interview 10 minutes for 10 people, so a bit gutted about not having a phone interview, but atleast i know what i'm up against this year, maybe it will be different this year though as I didnt come across anybody who had been invited by yummy? Make sure you know all the Florida parks though, when disney world opened, what the latest release is going to be etc they were the kind of questions we were asked in the presentation last year :) Yeah I am, mine was sent to my jmu account to, took away the magic from my yummy email :p do you know where it is actually being held yet?

I thought it was a bit odd that people could have an interview without applying, too. Hopefully it's not a bad sign. Do you think we'll have a phone interview if we pass the pre-screen interview, or will we just be invited to a final interview stage?

I think if i remember correctly from last year if we are successful we are invited to the f2f, so a pre screen is the same stage as a phone interview

Guysssss I am waiting for my rehire status thing too. Urgggh it's so annoying. I wish I knew when my interview will be if I will really get one. I hope so. This is the message I posted on another thread, for those of you who don't know what we are talking about . . .

    ********************************************************************
Hey guys! I received the following email on Thursday the 30th . . .

    *********************************************************************
    Greetings!
Thank you for your recent online application for Disney's Summer Work
    Experience Program for 2011.
We have begun reviewing applications for this program, submissions for
which will close in just under one months' time, and are excitied about
the amazing response we've received so far!
You have indicated on your application that you have previously worked
for the Disney Company and as a former/current Cast Member we are
required to check your rehire status with the Company before we can
    fully review your application.
Once we have this information and are able to review your application
fully, you will receive a response shortly after. We hope to have this
information back within the next couple of weeks. However, if you have
not heard anything by October 25th 2010 please call the Yummy Jobs
office in case our email to you has not been received.
To confirm; your application is still being considered and we look
forward to contacting you again over the coming weeks!
    Kindest regards,
    The Yummy Jobs Team
    Hannah London

This is because I worked at the Disney Store two Christmases ago (Christmas Temp). I know my rehire status is fine, so I'm hoping to hear from the soon, although a niggling voice in the pit of my stomach is telling me that they may just use this to fob me off. I'm always so negative when it comes to an amazing opportunity lol!
Has anyone received a similar email?
    What do you all think?
    x

I'm just hoping that this genuinely means that they are checking our statuses and with get in touch soon. Because I have a horrible feeling that it means something like, 'we only really want people who will be new to Disney, so we are going to make you wait longer to find out if you have an interview and hence longer to wait for that interview by which point there wont be hardly any spaces left'

    What do you all think?

    Hi everyone

I have booked my phone interview now and it's tomorrow!! It's more of a pre-screen so it shouldn't be too awful. I've had an email about the money that needs to be spent to get there and get set up.

I'm sure that that them having to check your rehire status isn't a bad thing. The applications are still open until the end of October anyway, so I'm sure you will be fine and it's not just to fob you off. Surely they would want someone who has worked for Disney before as they might know more about how the company works and that. But I can't really comment as I have not worked at Disney before.

@fleur_charms I'm sure your interview won't be too late because of the application deadline being at the end of October anyway. So it shouldn't affect your chances.

I hope you all do well and hear back soon.

And by the way I'm from UK, Plymouth to be exact and I applied in July so if you are also from the UK and applied early you should probably hear back soon. :D

Thanks for the reassurance Zoe. My name's Gabbi.
I'm doing English at Birmingham uni. Are you applying for summer work experience?
    I am just sooooo impatient.
Also, my friend Charlotte has just had her face to face for the Cultural Representative Programme, and she says the yummy jobs team are so nice and that the Disney HQ in London is LUSH!

    Hey Gabbi!

I'm at Plymouth Uni, and I'm applying for the summer work experience.
You're applying for that too aren't you?

That's good, I've heard they are all nice on the phone, hope I get to go to the Disney HQ!

Good Luck I'm sure you will hear back soon

I don't think it's a bad thing they're checking our re-hire statuses now - they have to do that anyway so I guess it means they don't waste their time giving phone interviews to people with bad records. I was actually accepted onto a second program and when I had my f2f interview they had checked my rehire status and it had a big YES written on it so I'm not too worried about that.

So I wouldn't worry, it's just something they have to do before they give you an interview :) It's hard when everyone else is booking phone interviews though!!!
